Over the past few years I have tried all three of the Asics models, the Ubersonic line and the Nike zoom vapor fly knits.
I finally settled in on the Asics Gel Res 7 as my doubles shoe and the Ubersonic 2’s for singles.
I was tempted to give the New Balance Lav a try due to the impressive reviews by the TW team. I held off due to owning eight pairs of Ubersonic 2’s and two pairs of Gel Res 7.
I finally ordered a pair of Lav’s when I saw them for $76. I figured I couldn’t go wrong. I didn’t. They were delivered last night and I wore them immediately in my 4.5 doubles match last night. They seem to be the perfect shoe...for both singles and doubles. I understand the durability concerns but worst case is I get two pairs for one payment.
