I am looking at getting my first string machine. I am a senior in high school and will be stringing my own rackets and my fellow teammates rackets. I am also going to go on to play division 3 college tennis and will use it then also. I have been looking at either the Alpha Apex II or the Alpha Axis Pro, which one would be the best buy?????

Well if you can afford the Apex II then that is the one I would go with. I have the Apex II and I absolutely love it. It is Alpha's new machine and it's mounting system is really easy to use. I highly recommend it. ;)

I have my Alpha Axis Pro for about 2 years now. It has been excellent and I have been very happy with it. I have never had a problem with it.

What is the main difference besides the mounting sytem? Is the mounting system really worth another $250? Thanks for the fast replies.

The main difference in the mounting system is from what I learned listening to the guys at Alpha is: the mounting system for the Apex II puts very little pressure on the frame, but yet holds it better than their older machines as well. If you can afford the Apex II, get it. The Axis Pro is a good machine, IMO, but the Apex II outshines it in just about every aspect of a stringer.

Thank you TennisPro. I will let you know when i get it. I was thinking about getting the Revo 4000 but i wanted a stand up that i could work around alot easier.
