Nike Kobe Trainer/Nike Zoom Tennis Trainer

Over the past few months I've been playing quite a bit of basketball & tennis. In this economy, I'm sure many of you are watching how you spend your money. For me, it has come the time to buy new tennis shoes. The insoles in my shoes are razor thin.

I've played around with the idea of possibly buying a trainer to wear for both tennis & basketball. A couple shoes intrigue me: the Nike Zoom Tennis Trainer & the Kobe Trainer by Nike. Both shoes have a mid-cut & appear to have the right outsole for tennis play. In addition, they're both lightweight shoes that both currently at generally reasonable prices. And to top it all off, they both look pretty good with jeans on as well. Versatility never hurts.

My question is, do any of you have experience with these shoes? Any opinions in regards to wearing them for multiple sports...that's obviously what they're meant for I suppose.

structurally, the Kobe Trainers should be suitable for 'tennis' movement... however I dunno how durable the shoe will be (especially around the toe area) for tennis...

on the flipside, the Zoom Trainers are made for tennis and with the toe-guard and XDR outsole, it should be ver sufficient for tennis as well as hoops...

Needless to say, I'd go for the Zoom Trainer.

Get the zoom tennis trainer while you can. Great all around shoe regardless of price. Throw in the price and it's an excellent
deal. Downside is it digs in the heel a little on break-in. Also, guys who chew through tennis shoes will rip these up in no time.

Well, I decided to get a couple pairs of the Kobe Trainers. At $29.99, they seemed like a total bargain. Worst case scenario, I'll wear them as a casual/gym shoe. I play mostly on clay courts. Is the toe area as important when playing on clay. I'm not much of a slider anyways.
