Anyone else had problems with these shoes?

Now these are my first proper tennis shoes, my last pair of reebok cheapo tennis shoes were ok.

I play on astro-turf/synthetic grass (sand-based).

I find that considering these cost twice what my old ones cost, the grip on these is only a little better... I slip often, and cannot change direction very well.

But worst of all, they provide almost no support to my heal/achilies... and are thus very unstable.... which hardly inspires confidence... I keep thinking I'm going to turn my ankle or something.

Not inpressed, and think my next pair will be Addidas Baracade 3.

perhaps you need mid cut shoes because most low cut shoes don't give ankle support. I have played on grass many times in the s2's and I love them. If all you play on is grass, there are European we sites that sell Addidas grass shoes.

I like the S2s but agree a low-cut shoe may not offer the best stability. The only fit issue I had was with the arch support -- I had to add some arch insoles because the shoe felt so flat (if that makes sense).

Other than that these are the best performing shoes I've had. Excellent traction, nice and light while I run around like a madman. If only the soles would last a bit longer...hardcourts just ate up my first pair and the $100 price tag has kept me from reordering right away.
