The should split the court half clay, half hard to hold both slams this year, similar to that clay/grass exo between fed vs nad.

Don't lose focus and stay strong, OP. I know I speak for all of us in wishing you luck in preparation for the season's main event: the Berrettini Open, which will proceed come hell or high water. Bamos.

Assuming USO and RG will be staged this fall. Will the field be cut in half (to 64 in singles)? Will the juniors, seniors, and wheelchairs be cut out completely?

I think children need to be removed from tennis stadiums entirely.

Most interesting will be if USO and RG cut both field size and prize money! Lots of middle-of-pack players look to Slams for most of their earnings! They've the most to lose if those things happen!

A cut down won't be a slam.
Wimbledon were prudent to have insurance.
The others are left to scrabble for $$$'s.
I'm not against seeing some tennis and making money for all concerned though. Won't be comparable to a slam unless the draw is open and there are 128 players.

Wimbledon prevented the players from earning a living this year.
Roland Garros/US Open is saving the lives of these players.

A cut to 64, or even 32, is absolutely a slam, as long as it's Bo5. When was the last time an unseeded won a Slam, in the men's side? It might've been '85 when Becker won!

Nothing to with unseeded etc.
It's the whole scale of the experience that makes it a slam.

If you think I'm saying this because of Federer Vs Nad Vs Djok rivalry?
I really don't give a stuff about that!

I just like tennis.

When Ivanisavic beat Pat Rafter as a wildcard @ Wimbly in '01 perhaps?

Surprising that he did it as a wildcard but Ivanisevic had already played 3 Wimbledon finals so it wasn't a novel experience for him except for the outcome.

Go ahead, open everything up with a risky R number, and see what happens.

Holding Wimbledon in July would be totally impossible. Delaying, cutting down - please!

My heart bleeds for a few, but the majority of those who could enter a slam will be just fine.

Every sport has to make compromises. MLB is cutting its regular season in half! NHL and NBA teams are not even playing in their cities!

Every championship won during this pandemic will be remembered even more! And the athletes have to make even more sacrifices.
