Odd(?) 2 Handed Backhand Grip

So....I've recently switched to the 2HFH. I love the spin (and hence angles) I can get on it and the extra...umph. One problem I've had though, is my grip changes between 2HFH and 2HBH when returning against fast servers. On my forehand, I have the dominant right hand at slightly below eastern and my top (left) hand at continental. For the most part, my backhand has always been the mirror image of that (right hand at continental and top left hand at between eastern and semi-western.)

I lost a close match in my 3.0-3.5 league yesterday (FYI: against someone who nearly double bageled me two months ago before I switched to the 2HFH) because I was having trouble with the grip changes on his serve. So this morning, I was out with the ball machine, and I experimented with hitting my backhand with my 2HFH grip (with my top hand behind at continental and my right hand in front at Eastern.) I had to compensate for the openness of what is essentially a continental stroke by closing my racquet about 10-15 degrees at contact. I was getting some amazing topspin and pace on this shot. I thought continental grips were a hindrance to topspin. The shot is interesting in that the grip produces what feels like I am pulling the racquet around/forward and upwards with my left hand instead of pushing around/forward and upwards.

I have yet to use it in real matchplay, but I think it could be promising. Has anyone ever heard of hitting the 2HBH with this grip--top hand at continental and bottom hand at Eastern?

If you're placing the top hand conti and the bottom eastern, you might as well remove your top hand and hit a one hander with an eastern grip. That's essentially what you are doing right now.

I see why you might say that, but in reality the left top hand still feels like the dominant hand in the stroke. When I said I felt like I was pulling the stroke around and upwards, that is happening with my left hand. I don't think I would have much power/stability at all with the right hand basically in front of the racquet at Eastern.
