Well, the first post is about Puerta's come back... whom, by the way, neither Sampras or Federer would've wanted to play at RG 2005!

This week he got to the quarterfinals of the Puebla, Mexico challenger, where he had to retire 5-5 in the first set... probably due to injury.

Ok folks, now say something about other players, so that we can keep the diversity going.

well, you know, federer and samprass played these exhibition matches :) but really... i think puertas gonna make a good comeback he was playing solid tennis when he got banned but well see how well he does on his return to the ATP. safin should probly start playing challengers again just to get his game straight...

I don't think Puerta's come-back is doing as well as Canas' come-back a year ago. Wasn't Canas already playing ATP tournaments just after playing about 5 challengers, last year at this time? And Puerta's already played a lot of them.

Other Storylines:

* Very Interested to see how the young guns fare, particularly Murray who had a tough patch this year with the wrist injury. I like his game. I definitely could see him moving up in the rankings.

* Not that many Americans in the top 100. Can D-Young continue his ascension within the rankings. Watching him play is a real treat. It would be nice to see a new promising american player.

* Can Blake recapture his best form from 2006?

If we are talking about up and comers. It doesnt look all that great for Australia either.. I dont see any bright lights shining from there at the moment, or into the future..

Do you think Alecia Molik will ever get back to the top 10?
As much as I would like to see it, I highly doubt it..

I really dont know whats happening with the Australian development of players.. We were a powerhouse once, and its a shame that we dont see that being passed down the generations..

Yeah it is very dissapointing how the system has dropped off it seems.

You are probably right on Molik. It is sad to think that inner eye infection ruined the momentum her career was building and what might have been otherwise.
