People who say their predictions with such certainty, but refuse to put their money where their mouth is

I notice some posters like this on this forum (one user in particular who I won't name). They say their predictions with such certainty "X player is a lock to win" "Y player will win no doubt" "Z player is never losing this match now". But they always always refuse to put their money where their mouth is and actually bet their own real money on their predictions. And I'm not talking tiny amounts like betting $1 or $2, I'm talking big amounts - $1000, $2000 or more. If you're so sure about what you say, you would be betting a lot of money on it. When asked about this, they either refuse to answer, or they say "I don't bet", or they bet an absolutely tiny inconsequential amount like $0.50. :-D

Is this something other people have noticed?

I remember when people here knew Daniil will destroy Novak and become the world number 1 at the AO. They said Daniil is probably playing at world number 1 level and that he will be impossible to beat this year.

I like gambling. I like sports betting from time to time on sports such as tennis and boxing. I am a huge Draft Kings player during the NFL and NHL seasons. I also casino gamble, but banned in most casinos in the north east US due to being a known advantage player in blackjack.

I wonder how many of them bet on that. The odds for that final were insane. It was 50/50 according to bookies but Djokovic destroyed him in 3 relatively easy sets.

If this thread is aimed at me then I do, I lost my house, my neighbours house and their neighbours house. I’m betting the corner shop next and I’ll be in deep trouble if that doesn’t go my way as we are all living there
Is that actually true or are you being sarcastic? :-D

<- this lady's prediction is the best ever.
I wonder if that lady knows how famous she is lol.

*raises hand* Djoker is now at +475 to win the FO, and yes I have bet a LOT on him ;)
You've been certain all along that Djokovic will win this! How are you sure of this? :p

StrongRule would be bankrupt several times over if he put his money where his mouth is.
He certainly would.

Oh I’m being serious, we are all eating the stock from his shop as we can’t afford food but his shop is now bet on Novak winning Nadal in 3 easy sets although I’ve just posted a thread saying he will lose in 5. Rolexes for everyone if he wins, prison if I lose

Really? Fair enough. It's pretty easy to notice.

OP, when will you graduate high school? In 2-3 years???
Not sure what this is supposed to mean.

Not everyone is a gambling addict.
If they are so sure of the outcome, they would be stupid not to bet big money on it. That is not gambling addiction lol.

And what if the outcome is so obvious that the odds aren’t interesting ?
