Hi all,
In July, I will be giving a few introductory tennis lessons to my girlfriend's mom. Because she's never played before, I figure I'll let her start on one of my racquets, but after that, I figure she'll want one for her own. Since she'll probably only be playing occasionally, and at a beginner's level, I'm looking for a racquet under $30. That wouldn't be a problem, except she is 4'11" and I want to get a racquet that suits her size (I'm sure her hand measurement is 4-1/4" or less). If you have any suggestions, I'd love to hear them. Thanks!

How about a junior racquet? I hit with a junior Babolat used by a 10 or 11 year old girl that size, and it was not bad at all. The grip was probably right at four inches or so, and the junior racquets are less expensive than their "adult" counterparts.

thanks for your suggestions, midlife crisis and bad call. I was considering that, but wasn't for sure- thanks for the input!

I have also hit with a Junior Babolat Aeropro Drive and it was surprising solid and yet really light. Sounds like a perfect racket for the woman you have described.
