PK heritage type c redondo mid VS. NON redondo mid

I've hit very briefly with the redondo mid and i really loved it. I'm really curious about the type c laver heritage.

anyone hit with both the redondo and the type C 93 Laver Heritage Series? I'm just wondering if the redondo is known to be an overall better racquet or not.

thanks

One key difference between the Laver C93 and Redondo C93 is in their composition: the Laver was 80 graphite/20 kevlar and the Redondo 100% graphite.

Also, the Laver was noticeably heavier and higher is sw.

So the two are quite different and it would depend on your personal requirements and preferences which one would be better.

BOTH are high-quality player's frames in design and manufacture. PK is not one of the big tennis racquet manufacturers these days (they used to be much, much bigger), but over the years, they've produced -- and still produce -- some of the very best frames on the market.

The silver Laver is a stiffer hit

I use the Laver but I have not hit with the Redondo mid. The only thing I can tell you is that it has a pretty hefty swing weight and when hitting the ball it makes this amazing crack sound. The Kevlar is the obvious difference and I think it contributes to the sound. The control on the Laver is obscene but I assume the Redondo is up there with it. This particular Laver is fairly hard to find so If you like the Redondo and you can find a Laver you should just buy it so you can have both. They are similar enough to switch off with.

The Redondo is very flexible and low-powered - it's a great control racquet but there have been many on the Redondo thread that have tried making mods (mostly string) to get a little more power out of it. It's probably the ultimate in comfort and is usually a good refuge for those with tennis elbow.

I just asked a friend who uses both. His response

"The red one (I'm guessing the Redondo) is softer, not as heavy and more headlight". He has no real preference - just chooses one or the other depending on how he's feeling.

OK, although this is not the Redondo thread, I'm going to answer it here any how.

The Laver is nice, very solid, probably due to the Kevlar. Plays more or less like the PC600 (some may argue, but, hey, just for easy understanding). The weight and the swing weight makes it a very solid stick and hits with a nice deep "thud".

I bought the Laver off Yuth, a Thai member of this board. I haven't paid him the money yet and I moded the Laver a bit. When Yuth tried it he said, "Hey, bro, you don't need to pay me. I'm taking the stick back. It plays real nice now."

So, hope this gives you some idea.

alright, thanks a lot of guys for the input. i'll definitely have to check the laver type c out then. and when a redondo comes along maybe i'll get that as well. I'm kind of in a racquet buying spree right now, it seems. so i'm being a lot pickier with the racquets i try.

Yes..Anuirut. Laver plays really good for me. I normally play with PS6.0 St. vincent. Laver feels like pc600, but not definitely the same. After "modified" it makes me more stable both groundstroke and serve. One weak point is its heavy weight, around 370-380 g strung. :)

Cheers,

Yuth
