Played with Robin Soderling's Balls

The actually sell these for $7.95 per tube of 4 balls at a local store that sells other balls for around the usual $3 or so for a tube of 3. Silly price but curiosity got the best of me and I bought them. Perfectly adequate ball but nothing all that special here. Oh well, an extra ball is useful and my friends and I somehow always manage to lose one at an indoor facility behind their "curtains of doom."

So what did Robin think of your play?

P.S.: I really like RS products (RS Lyon is very good) and in Sweden his balls are the cheapest of the quality ones(Dunlop, Wilson, etc...) you can buy. No reason not to play with them. I guess he is not that kind to the rest of the world as far as the price for his balls is concerned...

A follow up on Robin's balls, I opened a can, we played a few sets of doubles, found them to play quite well, then put them away in my bag, then pulled them out about four days later to use during warm-up hitting before playing; all of the balls were nearly dead already, markedly deflated.

I have been playing with them too lately, and can only say they are the best balls I have used in a long time. There is currently no outer yellow fluff left on them, but they still remain a lot of their characteristics. I haven't seen balls this durable in a long time. Normally I use Dunlop (in several types), Babolat or Wilson.
I certainly will buy them again!

If Robin's balls are anything like the old Tretorn pressureless orbs, I suggest keeping them in a nice warm place before playing...they don't bounce when they are cold, as I found out one cold morning in NYC when we showed up for a 7am indoor session and I had left the balls in the car overnight.

This may explain part of the reason why Sewretch has invested so much in Spandex compression shorts...that coach would never have grabbed his balls if they weren't full of bounce.
