Please help my son with his backhand!

My son is a high performance tournament player but backhand is his Achilles heel! Please let me know what improvements can be made based on the video below giving side and back view. Thank you!

He is waiting for the ball with his dominant hand already on a backhand grip ... why is that? My guess is that he doesn't have a practiced or automatic grip change ... which would be a major problem in any real playing situation. The stroke itself looks okay ... just the ready position is not mindfully observed ... and the grip change may be inconsistent ... if it even exists ~ MG

It doesn't look like he has major technical problems on his backhand stroke. Of course you can add some little details but more important is why do you think his backhand is his Achilles heel. What happens during the match? Do you have any video? In this video (practice session) he is not nervous and he knows when the ball comes to him. I would like to see or get to know what happens with this backhand during the match. Then I can give you some practical advice.

My personal opinion:

1. Weight transfer is too early, he should've transfer only on contact not before contact (yes I think it is still too early)
2. His weight transfer should be further enhanced and trained with more stretching exercise, he seems to have limited rotation to his torso and hips because he looks like he is struggling to follow through after contact (it almost look like the ball is too heavy but it shouldn't be). Also he likes to pull back on follow through, which means his weight is going backwards, which in turn sort of invalidate all the hard build up that he did before.
3. Have him focus more on arm relaxation and more strength on lower body (he armed last ms before contact, which is not good, that means he didn't follow through properly with his lower body strength)

I don't know much about two hand backhands. Compare how the line between his two shoulders turns relative to his upper arms to that of a model two hand backhand. Side-by-side video comparison is best.

What exactly is his issue he is having? Is he mishitting balls, not getting enough spin, not enough pace, depth control is poor, bad timing, missing wide, being rushed, etc...? More information might would be more helfpul, as his overall stroke mechanics look very good. It appears in these two or three shots that he is aggressively trying to step forward and transfer his weight into the court to drive the ball (which is good), but I'd be curious to see what his strokes look like in a match type setting to see where he is on the move and having to adjust to different pace, spin, and contact heights.
