Congratulations goes out to bezs for winning the PPL World Tour Finals event. Your consistency throughout the week was amazing. Good job!

Congrats also goes out to 24*7 Tennis for finishing up this week as the runner-up. As a result of your 2nd place finish, you have moved up to finish in 3rd in the year-end rankings.

Bonus points have been assigned to those that got the correct semi-finals correct.

Congrats to robin7 for finishing as the first ever year-end #1. Amazing job well done by dcdoorknob for finishing as the year-end #2.

I will be creating certain statistics about the game within the upcoming weeks (most likely after December 16 since I have final exams to study for). Please check back on December 17th or 18th for the statistics.

I would like to thank NYKings and seffina for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the game throughout the entire year.

Lastly, I would like to thank everyone for participating in the Power Play League. Definitely, without you guys participating in the events, we wouldn't have had a good success this year. It has been fun being one of the admins of this game.

Mark your calendars folks: The 2011 PPL season opener begins on the first week of the 2011 ATP World Tour, as we would be doing the combined Brisbane/Doha event. See you all in 2011!

Yay my first win! Would have been a 100% record if Roddick had not blown up against Berdy, oh well.

Thanks for running it guys, see you next season.

OK, so I promised a while back (and esp. to NYKings and seffina way back in the early stages of the league) that I will create some statistics on this year's edition of the Power Play League. I hope you enjoy!

I decided against adding the YEC event into the stats because it will definitely skew the data quite a bit.

These will be yearly statistics I will publish at the end of every season (I'm thinking of a 3rd statistical rankings system where it will use some sort of cumulative amount from previous years)

Other statistics from this year:
Highest points accumulated in a Grand Slam (32 picks): 286 - Maestro Nalbandian (Roland Garros)
Highest points accumulated in a Non-Grand Slam (24 picks): 258 - tennis08tarheels (Grass Court Masters - Queen's/Halle)
Highest points accumulated in a Non-Grand Slam (16 picks): 186 - dcdoorknob (Asia 500s - Tokyo/Beijing)
Highest Winning % in a Grand Slam (32 picks): Love Game - 78.13%, 25W-7L (Roland Garros)
Highest Winning % in a Non-Grand Slam (24 picks): Locotus - 75.00%, 18W-6L (Grass Court Masters - Queen's/Halle)
Highest Winning % in a Non-Grand Slam (16 picks): bezs - 81.13%, 13W-3L (achieved twice in Madrid and Cincinnati)
Most number of titles won: 2 - Maestro Nalbandian (Roland Garros and Cincinnati), 24*7 Tennis (Wimbledon and Paris) and dcdoorknob (US Open and Asia 500s - Tokyo/Beijing)
Most number of runner-up finishes: 4 - robin7 (French Open, US Open, Madrid and Toronto)

. . .

I decided against adding the YEC event into the stats because it will definitely skew the data quite a bit.

. . .

Now you've got my curiosity up, because the word "skew" means
"2: to distort, especially from a true value or symmetrical form <skewed statistical data>"

Since the YEC stats are an actual part of making up the true value, it's the truth we're all going to have to face in a few weeks, so personally, I'd just as soon know before we start competing again.

It's not really a skewed distortion; it's just the way it is ... I don't know whether any of the other players also want to know the real bottom line, but I do. :)
