Prestige ..what’s next?

Head should just re-release the IG prestiges with new PJ and name! Those will sell!

No, no, no! Beside my IG Mids which I use to play on daily basis I have another one in NOS cond. just to sell it in the future for no less than $1k... or $2k. So don't even think of ruining my great business plan ;)

If, and thats a huge IF, head kills the prestige line, they will have 5 lines or racquets, and 4 of those 5 would feature 100sq racquets only, so it wouldn't make much sense.

Well informed sources.
You need to start citing sources if you wish to be taken seriously. You have barely been here for a couple of months. I asked you earlier about your claim that Rublev was switching to Head and your answer: "lets see". That isn't how this works. There are a lot of well informed people here who have been on this forum for a while, and none have said anything remotely like you are claiming (so far). Guy has a valid point asking for a source from you.

Cilic. EDIT - although he could just be using a paintjobbed Pure Drive . . . ;-)
Yep, no surprise there. He doesn't use Prestige Mid like they advertise :) - in fact he uses TGK 231.3, a prostock version of the Microgel Radical MP with a 16×19 string pattern.

Of course Marin is playing the current Prestige Mid mold as discussed in another thread here and confirmed by at lest one "Legend". He switched long ago from Radical but it seems that you have missed that.

No, he is not using the current Touch Mid. I think @vsbabolat will confirm, not that it was ever in doubt. Share the link here where it is being discussed.

Regarding Prestige 2020: It will be launched Jan 2020, believe it or not.
Regarding Rublev: Nobody said that he is definitely switching. It is an option and of course not decided yet.

I am also curious what Cilic is using since he switched from TGT 231.3.
For me it looks like a Tgt 293.1. Can be also a Prestige Mid, but not an IG Radical, like someone said.

Also, would be nice to know what was the reason of switching from TGT 231.3.
2014 Cilic started to promote HEAD Prestige instead of Instinct. HEAD probably wanted to have him on a "real" Prestige and made him playtest the TGT312.2 (which was back then the G Prestige Rev Pro). He started to like the frame during 2014 and even won the US Open with it, which finally convinced him.

He was still using the 231.3 during the 2014 US Open... He switched with the Graphene XT pj, under the Graphene Prestige Rev Pro was still the 231.3.
Also Dodig was using his 231.3 with the Graphene XT pj, then sudenly changed to new frame with Graphene Prestige XT pj.
I feel that they were forced to switch from 231.3.
The last pj of the 231.3 that I saw and I own is the Graphene Radical XT, then Head stopped producing it.

Head is still producing the 231.x mold (aka. Microgel Radical MP), therefore, I do not see the reasoning behind what you said above...
Marin simply switched to a different racket, 312.2

Since Dodig’s 231.3 in Graphene XT Radical pj I didn’t see any player using this mold. Also, on the grey market I didn’t find any 231.x with newer pj than XT. That’s reasoning behind my thoughts. Maybe Howard can enlighten us!

This is TGK231.x
Still produced by Head and sold by TW
I understand you're talking about the Pro Stock paintjobs, however, the mold is still alive and kicking somewhere in China...

Yes, you are right, the mold is still alive, I was thinking about pro-stocks and pro players using them.
No pro player is using 231 any longer or right now, at least no HEAD sponsored ones. Dodig also switched from TGT231.3 to TGT312.2 (current HEAD Prestige Mid) beginning of 2016.
And be assured that no top HEAD pro player is forced or lets himself be forced to switch molds.

It’s a pitty that great frames are no longer in use even by pros. But it’s also nice that I still have a few.
There must be greater frames then :) By the way the TGT260, official Radical successor of 231 is still in use by a couple of HEAD pro players.

No, there are not greater Head frames on sale. All the great frames are available only to elite pros: pt10, pt57, pt113....
Head is trying to fool us with their “new technologies”, but new frames cannot compete with the feel of older ones.

TGT260.x is the last nice Radical, the newer versions, aka TGT 307.x is more a Babolat frame than a Head.

I’m not sure if you had a chance to play with it yet, but you might want to give the Gravity Pro a shot (and maybe the Tour, depending on where you live). It is not PT57E level of comfort, but it is way more forgiving. It is also not as solid as a LM Radical Tour, but it is close - and again way more forgiving.
I’ve been playing the Gravity Pro since mid June - I’m now taking it to tournaments and I’m liking it even more despite the end of our honeymoon period. I’ve played with the i.Prestige for several years, but had to move to something else earlier this year due to several factors (including that I only have one frame left). This is as close as I’ve got to the classic Head feel since the mid 2000s. (Prince does not sell their Phantom Pros here in Brazil, though)

The new prestige line had a high SW so with thick poly strings at low tension it was not manageable nor maneuverable for your average club wanna be pro player. The game has changed to big serves big Forehands plus one. In my last thread I was looking for a modern frame like the prestige but with more power spin STABLE yet maneuverable. IT is the HOLLY GRAIL I have tinkered with it but still you need to be a pro player to be able to handle the high SW. If Head is reading this please inbox me I have made the prestige line better but still not satisfied hence my last thread.
