Price of 1h tennis lesson in your part of the world?

Here in Belgrade, Serbia, it's 15-25 eur (16 -27 usd) for a lesson and court. I see many kids from other countries coming to take lessons here. I wonder if it's because it's cheap or because Serbian tennis is doing good? Maybe a bit of both...

In Moscow, Russia, coaching fee basis is RUB1500, ~USD23/h. Outdoor courts start from around USD9/h in Summer. Indoor, decent quality (light and surface), USD24-30/h and over during cold season (October-April).

In Az averages are around $25-$40 for a general coach or hit with some of the college kids. Jump to $50-$100 for D1 college kid hit and general coaching, or a top D1/Ex tour pro coach.

Awesome, the single most piece of advice in a lesson for me was free, a guy a bump into before a class with a teacher pro said that the slice was like a volley, that I just had to get the feel of it, there I learned how to slice.

Wide range of prices in this thread, from $15 all the way up to $125, you can basically get 11 hours of lessons for the price of 1 hour lesson, lol, I wonder whats better..

In a very funny way ... the "Cost" of a lesson doesn't really matter ... only the ACURACY and the eagle-eyedness of the pro giving the lesson. I can take someone who's had a hundred lessons from a very "well-informed" coach ... and bring attention not just to things never covered before ... but most importantly bring intense focus to small student-specific details that often get glossed over in the overload of generic "truth" being sold as technical "wisdom" ... from very well-meaning pros. Truth is ... sometimes 2 hours at $120 can do more good than 50 hours at $60.

THAT'S what you're looking for ... not a good "price point" ... but someone who can see YOUR unique issues and get straight to the point.

I know they're usually not offered ... but 15 minute lessons can be amazing too. I taught for years at a major university, where I'd give a 20-minute group topic-of-the-day "class" ... and then 10 to 12-minute mini-privates to intensely drill in on each student's unique problems ... giving every one a different checklist of what specifically to focus on when their stroke wasn't working. I also told them to write it down and read it at night when they go to bed ... and in the morning when they wake up ... thereby visualizing their "corrections" a number of times before the next session. Even those who didn't play between classes came back better ... simply from having seen it in their minds many times ... with intention. One small note ... the Europeans and Asians would go straight to the side of the court afterwards and write it down ... but seldom would the Americans ... as in their "equity-based" mindset ... they already HAD it ... and KNEW it ... ... ... when the value wasn't what was IN their "hard drive" ... but how often they would bring it up on the "screen" and VIEW it ~ MG

20 to 35 per hour for regular coaches in Spain. Don't know about the posh clubs though, like the one where the Barcelona ATP500 is hosted. I suspect that depending on who coaches you it can go up to 60ish.

USD50 outdoor lesson in CAN, but USD30-35 from an Eastern European coach (higher level, both on paper and in practice).

USD30-35 in Romania as well.

club membership currently $250/280 jnr/adult a yr n used to be $100 more. now it's cheaper only bcs nowadays members dropping so badly n the dozen courts can hardly be seen 2 or 3 used or not at allo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_Oo_O......................

$25/1.5hrs group of 6 adult squad. 3 mths ago, i was curious abt the 'adult squad' as a couple of guys i hit occasionally w/ were attending once or twice a wk. so went for free trial n the coach just fed the ball to us fh/bh then some double point play. i felt quite boring as every1 had to take turns n lucky to hit 120 shots at most which's only 1/10 my daily dosage......gee. after the 'squading' i though hit w/ some of them but all ran out energy......<1/2 of my age:?))) wtf, boyohboy. i knew it wouldn't be intense at all so i rode my bike for a bit extra workload n dat's i usually doing on wknd anyway, court hitting even non stop >1200 hits in 5 or 6 hrs simply got too much diluted. only bcs of my re-calibrating sense of court range/angle etc, otherwise no need to hit on the court at all, man. my inclined wall's the best, all done w/in 1.5hrs.............

As low as $30 if you want some old dude with a basket of mouldy 3 month-old balls who clearly has no idea how to play let alone teach proper tennis

As high as $125 if you get one of them fancy Spanish coaches whose efforts are directly proportional to how much potential you have, and also inversely proportional to your age

I live in germany and have family and friends in Belgrade Serbia. Of course every time I am in belgrade I train with the trainer cause it's a lot cheaper and I like the trainers in Belgrade more than in munich

you mean 27 USD for both coach and court? or 25USD each for court and coach?

Wall is the mother of learning. Court is the father. Or vice-versa? I miss good walls in my town nowadays as they're nowhere to be found. There was a perfect one in my elementary school courtyard, but ret@rds nailed a basketball hoop on it and painted over the half of court.

In NS they usually charge about 1600rsd (14 euros) 600rsd of that total goes for court hire, to the club, and the rest is coaches fee 1000rsd

Sounds very affordable. Can you get a good coach for 1000 rsd?

BGD prices are always going to be slightly higher than other cities in SRB. The coach I have in NS is fantastic, works well with kids, adults and seniors. Some coaches just do the minimal without effort, others do the job they love. You can always spot a good coach.

Court prices are 500 - 600 rsd in BG too. If you're willing to go further (Avala, Surcin), even 250-300 rsd (probably places to look for affordable coach).

I know what you mean by minimal effort. Some just want to work with seniors and feed the from the cart without moving. Plenty of those among more expensive ones.
