Prince CTS Precision MP

so, what do we have here, then?

located at a garage sale, it's, well, purple, basically, but feels lovely in the hand, very HL and quite hefty..

has some sort of syn gut (looks decent but ancient) in it.

I am itching to have a hit with it, can anyone shed some light on this thing?

I am guessing the $2.00 AUD (with cover!) it cost me is probably a pretty good deal... :)

The Prince CTS line up that included the CTS Graduate, Approach and the Precision were all very sought after frames at the time..., around 89-90. It was Prince's first line of the wide bodies to combat the Hammer line from Wilson. I think it's around this time where Prince took over as the number one racquet company in the world. Nice find if it's in decent condition.

Thinnest of the original CTS lineup at 24 mm at the tip (Graduate/Lightning 26mm, Approach 28mm, Storm 32mm, Thunderstick 36mm). The Lightning and the Approach were the stars of the lineup but the Precision was a nice, solid stick in its own right.

thanks all!

yes, it is in perfect condition..

so, I took it for a hit, and it was lovely.. well, it was lovely for 15 minutes, actually, as the 20 year old strings expired quite spectacularly on a big forehand!

anyway, I have been sufficiently moved to string it up again.

any suggestions?

I've got my late buddy's CTS Graduate. It plays nicely with syngut in the 40's. Try poly at 35lbs - you might like it

I see that you are selling your Donnays. Which new racquet(s) are you moving on to?

Owned a graduate and an Approach. Graduate was much better IMO. I think it had fiberglass in it so it flexed and wasn't such a board like the Approach.

Still wish I had those.

I had four mids and one oversize when they were on the market. They are really sweet frames but the handle butcap system broke on ever single one of them. jako eltign played with them for a very long time.

i would still use them if it were not for the butt cap system. they will eat your string pretty fast like most prince frames back then.

So, if anyone actually has one of these, and would part with it, can you let me know?

I have been using it for singles a bit, hits the snot out of the ball as long as I am playing well...

Loved the Precision, but I bought 3 Blasts.
Hated the Blasts, white with too wide a frame without the benefits of stiffness, and kinda heavy for my slight build (136 lbs at 5'11").
Should have bought Precisions, which I demo'd.
