I like using poly mains (luxilon BB alu) and synthetic gut crosses. This setup gives me the best overall performance at below $20 per set of string. However durability seems to be an issue as the main poly string seems to cut through the synthetic crosses pretty fast. I've experiemented with a few synthetic strings, mostly prince such as the multifilament synthetic and synthetic DF, and am wondering if it's possible to find a more durable one without sacrificing performance/stability. For example is the lighting version more durable? Any suggestions for other durable synthetic strings with decent performance?

just get psgd its the best. topspin is crap. no power and no feel and no spin. the texture doesnt help. i love psgd

I've tried a number of syn gut crosses with my chosen poly (WCSS) and I always come back to PSGD. No other syn gut that I have found last any longer than PSGD (4-5 hours on a SP Black) and I happen to like the crisp feel of PSGD. I've also tried a handful of multi's in the crosses (X1, Live Wire, Gamma Pro, Xcel, Kgut, NXT, and Yonex 850) but IMO they don't feel any better or last any longer than PSGD....and they are a lot more expensive.
Wilson Stamina is another syn gut that last a little longer than PSGD but doesn't feel nearly as good as PSGD IMO.

PSGD is pretty durable for a synthetic gut but Lightning is more durable. I've compared both before and PSGD lasted 4 hours for me while lightning about 5-6 hours.
