This is the best string i ever tried.. and i tried a lot of strings..

This string is black, 1.24mm, pentagonal is kinda like blackcode.
For those who like strings that other people call ''mushy and soft'' like i do this string is amazing. Great power, amazing power and spin, great control. The only downside is comfort that could be a little better.. I'm having a little bit of soreness on my wrist but some of my friends play with it without problems.

It costed 25E a reel. Can't beat this price.
It was better for me than Topspin Cyberflash, Alu power, SPPP, Mantis power and comfort polyester, Tecnifibre Redcode.

You should really try it.

I couldn't agree more. I switched to this string having believed that MSV Hex would be 'the' string for me. However it is very difficult to resist a string that has very similar properties, doesn't sacrifice on playability and cost me £25 for 200m. Yes, after 10 hours of play the string is well and truly DEAD but when a restring is costing me no more than £1.60 durability is not detrimental to my overall feeling about this string. The perfect package for those who like black, hexagonal and spin-friendly strings.

If this string was from another company and costed twice as much everyone in this boards would be reviewing and thanking god for this string.

Man, where did you get a blackout reel for 25pounds? Did you buy from a UK dealer? Or you buy from their offical site? If so, how much the delievery cost?

I had my eyes on blackout for a while, I want to try it after finish my Cyberpower reel. However, I am thinking maybe I should get MSV Hex 1.17 or sigma pro 1.17. Because I never break my 1.24 string. I heard that you should use a thinner string if you cannot break your curren string. Why there isn't a thinner blackout :(

How does it compare to PolyStar Energy?

Wo, THAT ^ is some recommendation :) ... better than Alu and SPPP... ticks all the performance boxes like spin, power and control... Actually, fellow UK Racketaholic Tennis Bum Xenakis used to be a regular user and advocate of this string, if I'm not mistaken... oh no, here we go... another poly to investigate, if I can ever get through the Santa-like sack of strings that I have festering down by my side in a bag here!

Is it stiffer than MSV HEX? What tension do you string it at?

I have a reel of this stuff. But I haven't been able to bring myself to string up a racquet with it when I have reels of BHBR, BHSR etc. Will eventually get round to stringing up a racquet with it just to see what its like, but off the reel, it feels pretty stiff with not much elasticity. That said, I did play an opponent who's racquet was strung with this and he was generating a heck of alot more spin on the ball than usual.

I just got this string. Will try it tonight and let you know what I think. I usually play with RPM or Black Code in a hybrid with Babolat N.Vy.

This string is great! I really can't see much of a difference between this and Technifibre Black Code. Will have to see how the tension and durability hold up compared to the BC, but if its anywhere close, it is a great deal for 1/3 of the price.

20/21/22kg depending on weather and court conditions.

Out of interest what weather conditions/court did you have each tension.

Ive stung this up at 60lbs (27kg) and it felt good

What do you gain from having a lower tension? I already produce alot of my own power,

This has a lot to do with my racquet. My racquet is very low-powered and has a dense pattern and everyone that used one AG200 knows what i'm talking about. I take advantage of the low tension to gain more power with a little pocketing. 20kgs when it's below 14º, 21kgs when is between 14-25º and there's some humidity and 22kgs when it's more than 25º.

I feel ya... So many strings, so little time, so few racquets to string in...

I rather liked the reel of poly nova I got with my stringing machine and I loved the Eagnas (prospro) superspin-- greatest synthetic gut ever. It wouldn't surprise me if this blackout is a hit as well... hmmm, now where to get some in the US-- at ~30-40 bucks a reel... can't pass up on it.

Also, sorry for the tangeant, Ross-- is it just me or every time you get your hands on a frame do you have the urge to find the "perfect" match with strings thus starting the mania over again?

Absolutely! And none of this is helped by the fact that, if you're a bit of a rcketaholic like me, it's all made worse due to particular strings performing differently in different frames.

Re Pro's Pro though, anyone else care to share their views on this? Is it really so similar to Black Code?

I have now played with them for 5 hours and so far, they are really good. Tension loss is minimal, similar to Black Code. My cross strings seem to move a lot, but that isn't completely out of the norm. I would certainly recommend these strings. Check out bigttennis website to see their stock on strings.

I'm excited/dreading it already...I bought a set of POG Mids...eek

Regarding BO-- I really hope it's not like BC. I wasn't a huge fan. MSV hex was far superior in my experience-- perhaps I just didn't play it in a frame/tension that suited me.

In terms of stiffness, how does Blackout compare to Cyber Flash, MSV HEX, or PolyStar Energy?

anybody--- where can this be bought in the US i like the sound of it as a replacement for my varsity team they all want rpm and i think i this string would benefit us as the stringer for our team

Had my first hit with this today. To answer my own question of stiffness, strung at 46 lbs. it seems pretty middle-of-the-road. Didn't feel mushy like the OP commented.
