Question about selecting indoor shoes for wide feet (orthofeet )

Hi-
I am looking for an indoor shoe (2E-4E ) that is easy on the knees and ankles . I got some walking shoes from a company Orthofeet and they help with comfort.
I am asking if anyone has tried their athletic shoes on the court?

I am also looking at Kswiss Hypercourt express and Babolat SFX3.

I have some slippers that I ordered from Orthofeet a few years ago. Inside my home, I love them and wear them religiously. I do not walk around barefoot.

I'm a 4E width. I've been wearing New Balance 1006's for three-four years. I couldn't get a new pair this spring, and so, I got a pair of SFX3 shoes.

They're OK. They are wide, and have decent cushion. However, as the summer wore along, I found myself wearing last year's pair of 1006's (I play almost entirely on clay).

I do think that the 1006's will become more available soon. And, I'll likely grab another pair then.

If you are looking for a super comfortable walking around shoe, check out the NB Fresh Foam More (in whatever version is out now).

They are like walking on pillows. My most comfortable shoe ever.

I have a pair of 1006 Revlite but started having knee pain after using them indoor. Not sure why but it got bad. I would like to try Diadora Speed Blushield 5 AG but they are out of stock in my size everywhere

don't count on the new 1006's. i've been wearing new balance size 10 4E for MANY years. they have now changed the last; the toe box is narrower i literally just finished packing up a pair of 1006's, size 10 4E for return. their length is about right, the maximum width of the sole is about even between my old shoes and this pair, but in the new ones the toe box does not maintain that width, it narrows so that the toe box is pointier.

i tried the 806's earlier in the week. the 10 in the new model is noticeably shorter than the old 10. i got a pair of 806 size 11 4E. it is the same length as the old 10, but is about a 3E - narrower than the old 4E. i'm thinking of keeping the 11's and using some shoe stretchers which i got a while ago when i ran into a problem finding hiking boots. [i finally got a pair of lowa's and the stretchers worked well. if you get stretchers make sure they are for wide feet. most stretchers turn narrow shoes into mediums]. i trust the stretchers more with the 806's full leather upper,

tried the orthofoot pacific palisades model, size 10 extra wide - it's the same length but a bit narrower than the new balance 806 10-4E

So the newer New Balances are a bit shorter than the old then? The old size 10's were always a bit long for me, but just wide enough in the standard size. I wonder if they are a better fit now.

I am finding New Balances are running a 1/2 size short. I normally wear 8 1/2 (2E) but have been getting 9 (2E). I have a wide forefoot and a tall arch.

Forget K-Swiss, Babolat, Asics 2E, you name it as I have tried them all.... I can't even get my foot into the top of them.

New Balance is all I can fit into and my size has not been in stock for over a year. I am playing on shoes that are a year old and are killing my knees, ankles, etc. I play about 5 times a week.

Adidas solecourt shoes are pretty good. They're comfy to move around, wide, soft enough and lasting. I'd say they are better than the new Barricades that're a bit harder and not as easy to manoeuvre in.

it was only the 806 which was shorter. the 1006 had the same length as my old shoes.

In general, for standard non 'E' sizes, which brands are the widest with the largest toe boxes? Here in Ireland, it is very difficult to find e sizes.
I might just order one from the US and see how it fits, too.

i just tried a pair of k-swiss bigshot. i would estimate they are about 2E, but they don't even call them "wide." just the regular bigshot.

I picked up two pairs of the Fila Axilis Energized shoes from the Indian Wells pro shop for $30 a pair. They are very roomy in the forefoot, almost equivalent to a 2E from New Balance. They run about a quarter to half size small. I nornally wear 11's but could have used 11.5's in this shoe. 6 month durability warranty too!

Heard they're really lacking in cushioning, though. True? The fit sounds great for my feet but as someone who needs to look out for my knees I've stayed away given the reports of them being uncomfy underfoot.

It's thin and easily compressible, especially in the forefoot area, but because I needed more bulk to fill up the volume of the shoe, my thicker inserts work perfectly. I wouldn't play this shoe without using either an extra cushion or replacing the provided insole with an aftermarket one designed for tennis.

I'm getting sore spots on the tips of my big and second toe, from the shortness of the shoe. I really build up the arch support and that prevents my foot from sliding forward, but these size 11's really are 10.5's.

Thanks for the info. I do sometimes put in some powerstep pinnacle insoles for shoes that really need it. I’d be all over trying this shoe if I got the same deal as you did. 30 bucks? Wow.

I think the pro shop brought in a lot of merchandize for the tournament, which they then had to get rid of. They had great prices on clothing too but almost everything in the large size that I wear was gone. The two pairs of size 11 shoes were the last two in that size!
