Question for Chris about new Princes

Hey Chris, I was wondering if you could do a quick comparison between the Prince Diablo mid and the new Prince Response and Graphite 100 standard length. I have been using the Diablo Mid for 10+ years and am liking the specs on the new rackets, especially the Response. I appreciate any info you could provide, Thanks.

I would say the Diablo sits right between the two. It has mass to it like the Response 97, but it have more of the classic box beam feel like the Graphite 100. It sounds like you'd be adding weight to the Graphite 100, which makes it a more forgiving Diablo Mid. I think you'd really like the Graphite 100 with some weight added if you like the Diablo.
The Response 97 is a crisper feeling racquet. The string pattern also feels denser than the Diablo and Graphite 100. It is a really precise feeling racquet and one you should definitely demo.

Hope that helps,
Chris, TW

The new Graphite 107 has significantly higher power ratings per TW than the Graphite Classic 107 you've been selling, with a slightly higher stiffness rating. Do you perceive a difference hitting with these two?

@sparkyS4,
The Diablo Mid comes around faster for me -- I think simply because it is a mid and cuts through the air very well. That is one of the reasons I have always been a fan of midsize racquets.

That being said, the new Graphite 100 is a fast and easy to swing racquet. I have mine customized to 12.6oz, 9 pts HL and a swingweight of 325 and it feels nice and fast and easy to swing.

Thanks for the info Chris, sounds like we like similar specs, my Diablo's are 370 grams (13oz), 12 pts HL and a swingweight of 330, love the heavy, headlight, lowish swingweight set up. Did you do your customization with leather and lead? Or perhaps putty/silicone?

Last question, did the Response feel clunky to swing at all? I'm probably going to try both, but would like your opinion. Thanks again.

I used leather and lead. Most of the weight is at the handle with a little counter weight at the tip.

The Response is an awesome racquet. I did not find it clunky at all. It felt somewhat similar to a Volkl C10 Pro in regards to maneuverability, but the similarities end there.

Both are definitely worth serious demo time. The Response is a little more dialed in spec wise for me, whereas the Graphite was just too light in stock form.

Best of luck finding the right racquet. It sounds like you have some fun demo time ahead!
