Question for Chris: Volkl Super G 10 Mid (330)

Chris,

I've been bouncing between the Wilson BLX Tour 90 and the Volkl T10 MP Gen II for a long time. The Gen II is easy to use but lacks plow and stability, and loses it best characteristics when weighted up. The BLX Tour 90 is solid and stable with the plow through I like but after a set or too is just a touch too much mass especially on serve. I've tried the Power Bridge 10 Mid but again, it's just not got the plow through Id like even with added weight. Tried the Yonex RQiS 1 Tour but the feel was too soft and I prefer a 16x19 string pattern. I had thought about the C10 Pro but was concerned that it would be too soft like the Yonex.

I was wondering where you think the Super G 10 Mid fits with those racquets. I was hoping it might be a comprise and worth taking a punt on. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Cheers,

Andrew

It sounds like it could be a good fit.It has a firmer feel than the C10 Pro and PB 10 Mid and has that crisper edge to its feel -- similar to the Tour 90. If you want to firm it up even more, go with the 320g version and add a leather grip (the grip is the only weight difference between the models) as the beam is a little firmer in the 320. I would consider demoing both to see which response you prefer.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Chris,

It does help a lot. I'll try but i'm unlikely to find one here in Australia to demo. That being the case, if I do take a punt it will probably be on the 330g. The stiffness rating on the 320g is a lot higher than I'd like.

Thanks again.
