Perhaps we can share out the rackets that we love, specially the ones not very well known. Tell us why you love it, all the nifty details, the quirks, the story behind it.

Let me start by sharing my Prince Tour DB 850 - (From my blog)

A tennis racket is supposed to be a tool for winning matches. But .. some racket brings me smiles just by holding it and looking at it, like this Prince. The Prince Tour DB OS is such a pretty stick, no doubt.

The contrasting black and white frame lined with blue trim is bright and delightful looking with simple but interesting design. Flipping the racket 180 degree shows a completely different color scheme. There are actually 4 actually different paint color on the throat and tip part which ares in matt finish, and on the two wings another 4 colors in gloss. Yes, that is interesting to me. 8 processes to paint this thing. Or I guess they could do the 4 colors and put a gloss on the two wings. I know it is silly to think about these things. I like the finish.

There is a bumper guard but no other grommets. I like that, it is cool. The simplicity of the design is like an O-port without the complexity. The top or center 12 mains string holes are aligned with the string. The lateral 10 cross string holes are also aligned with the strings. This design is also easier to string, if you have ever strung an O-port rackets.

The double bridge, DB, design is cool. The flying buttress looking ribs or cut away, for #5 and #6 main strings, look striking. DB essentially lengthens the effective string length to closer to outside of the frame. The soft DB piece acts like a section of grommet and dampens the string vibration like on some Head and Yonex rackets in the past.

The thickness of the hoop and beam appears consistent in a classic look. The profile through the air on the outside is oral, classic, but along most of the the inside of the hoop has this raised ridge which is similar to Prince Tour NXG.

The other two features are the tried and true Triple Threat, and the shock damping Air Handle.

This Prince Tour DB was picked up along with a St. Vincent Wilson ProStaff 85 and a Wilson Blade 104 in November 2019 from Play It Again Sport. I still remember that the clerk wrapped the blue athletics tape over the grip to make it a more attractive buy. Certainly the Tour DB does not have the same prestige as the PS and not as sought after as the Blade, but it is surely a more interesting racket to look it.

I will play with it at some point, but now.. not being able to play, I am simply enthralled by the Prince Tour DB.
