Hi all !!

My girlfriend is using a Dunlop 300 4D (not the tour version), which she finds a bit heavy. She plays defensively, but I can see that she is gradually developing a more aggressive game..(!) That said, she still stays most of the time at the baseline. A lighter than the Dunlop Prince Ozone Tour (16x18 pattern), around 10.6oz, didn't help her either (many vibrations...).

Now, considering this will be a gift and I would ideally want a racquet she can grow with (a good tweener..?), I am thinking about getting her:
(I also had Head YOUtek Elite in mind, but I think it's more demanding).

1. A Volkl PB V1 MP
2. A Babolat Aeropro Team version
3. An other option..?

IMPORTANT INFO:
i) She doesn't like girly designs
ii) She is not fond of Wilson racquets (owns a Zen)

I 'd really appreciate your help with this :)

a few ideas would be to get the AeroPro team, or get a lighter racket like the AeroPro light or Youtek Rad Lite, and customize it with lead tape to the balance/sw that she'd like.

Dunlop aerogel smoke, or k6.2. But I would more recommend the aerogel smoke, that's a crazy racket, and it's a bit taller at 27.25 inches, so that will make it maybe a bit easier to use, and it weighs 10.6 on the dot.

Yonex Sfit 5,Yonex SIFT 3,Yonex RQiS 2 Tour,Vokl PB 4,Volkl PB 5, are some good options.I just got my demoes ,PB 5 ,Yonex SFIT 5,SFIT 3 for us to demo next week and i will demo the Dunlop 200T.

I think she is a little biased towards the babolat option...

What impresses me a little is the fact that I expected more people to support Volkl PB V1 MP. Just showed her Dunlop Smoke, I think she prefers something that "looks" fancier.

I personally also happen to like the new Yonex offerings. Like the S-Fit 1 Lite.

Yonex RDS 003 295g/27" and it's $89.
Rqis 2 tour 288g/27.5" and powerful racket.
Yonex racket might be a good choice for $$$ and it's made in Japan.

Youtek Speed Elite fits the bill too. Although I didn't buy one after I demo'd it. Just didn't fit me. The RDS 003 is much like the Smoke, but a little more head light and less stiff. Actually, it's like you took a Smoke and added 10g of lead at the bottom of the handle in terms of weight and balance. The handle is very long, so if she likes two handed strokes that might be a good option.

In terms of looks and fitting the bill, I think the APD Team is probably going to be the one to get. But of the options it will be the most expensive one. If that matters.

If you don't mind going a tad more heavy, the BLX Pro Open looks like it might be a good option. Or the BLX Pro Team FX which is also 285g, the same length, weight, and balance as the Smoke, but a tad less stiff but with a 103sq in headsize.

I think the Yonex RDS 003 is a good choice with addition to its price. But the weight is about 11.1oz strung. Pretty light for most people but since she wants a rather light racket it should be fine. Great comfort n feel.

congrats on getting your gf into tennis...i think i've alienated mine from the game, due to my racquet obsession...haha -- isn't it normal to bring tennis racquets into the bedroom?

You guys are hilarious !!

I think I must be so lucky that I get to like the same sports with my girlfriend. It brings us closer and we also have so much fun together...

If you don't want to go broke, I'd second the MG Rad OS option. A nice, relatively light frame that packs some useful power.

Another racket that I personally like that's around your specs is the O3 Hybrid Hornet MP. Excellent frame (IMO), packing a nice blend of power, control, pretty decent feel, and feels nice in your hands.

Well, you are probably right about the O3 Hybrid Hornet. The only problem though is I had showed it to her in the past and she didn't like it... It would have been perfect.

The Radical OS solution is a tad heavier than ideal.

Maybe I 'll just get the babo and get finished with it :?
