in the different versions of top spin (the original versions, xbox, ps2, and pc), did the career modes offer different racquets for purchase over the different versions (i.e., did the ps2 offer different racquets for purchase in career mode than the xbox, etc)

yeah, i'm a topspinaholic. You can buy new rackets in the career mode and then change to it by going to the sportbag by pressing start. they have yonex, prince, head, and wilson tennis rackets.

By the way, i bought an XBOX360 just for topspin 2, and it completely sucked. i beat the computer on hard 6-06-06-0. way too easy. could win a grandslam against federer without losing a game. all you have to do in that game is slice the ball deep to win points. Plus the sound effects of the racket hitting the ball sounds like a garbage can lid bang, not like a tennis racket at all. The original Topspin for XBOX actually has better graphics too. Its a better game in my book hands down.

The original top spin on xbox is the best version IMO. I have it, but my xbox is going kaput, so I bought a cheap ps2 and am waiting on top spin to get here (ps2 version is alot uglier, but has new people). I hated top spin 2. I am just not sure if the ps2 version allows you to buy different racquets in career mode from the ones offered in the original xbox version? (since it has fed and some other new pros, I didnt know if it might let you get babolat racquets or ncodes or something, even though the original did not).

Since your an expert. I can't seem to do the serve drills. I am currently #2 in career mode but these stupid level 1 serve drills keep me from getting stars.

When I am supposed to hit the back line on serve, no matter what I do, full max on any serve, topspin, flat, slice, or other, I still don't hit the spot except rarely.

Now when I'm competing, I hit it all the time.

How did you do it??????

Perplexed:(

to hit the serve close to the lines hold the cursor toward the direction in the service box you want to hit, til the last milisecond and aim it then let go. if you hold it too long it will go out. It takes practice to locate it.

Topspin one was the best tennis game out there. I own TP2 and I hate it, they made it incredible stupid with the risk shot configs, and the movement is horrible. I do like the additions of players on TP2 and the different racquets you can buy and clothes but thats it.

topspin 2 is awful. Why should a flat shot be impossible to hit out, and the topspin shot be super risky. Makes no sense.

You should buy Virtua Tennis 3 for the Xbox 360, it is a much better game.

Yes, the offline mode is better, lots of stuff to do and great graphics but, there's always a but. Online play is pure ****, the lag on this game caused me some serious headaches. I understand lag like the next guy but when you hit a winner and the ball freezes and the other player can get to the ball and hit back for winners..thats just lame. Apparently it has to do with oversea's connectivity. The only problem is that the only one's that play the game at night are oversea's players!
