"I'll decide in the next few days where I'm going to go to but wherever I play next I'm going to make sure I'm ready. I don't want to jump into things too early," she said.

This is a bit ironic tbh as I remember the reason she split from Nigel Sears was because she wasn't ready yet for the level of coaching he provides (not sure what was exactly meant by this) , and then this. Haha

Not really. The OP is jumping to conclusions with the thread title. "Splitting," from a coach is not necessarily the same thing as firing a coach. It could be something as simple as the coach had a contract that ran through the US Open and then ended. Emma may have simply decided not to renew the contract. The coach may be perfectly fine, but I applaud Emma for striving to be even better and choosing someone she thinks can help her achieve that. As far as I can tell she isn't doing anything wrong so I don't understand the criticism over this.

This is not surprising and infact was kinda expected. It was just a short term partnership for few weeks. She worked with Nigel Sears for few weeks during grass season. After that, her parents wanted someone she is familiar with to go along with her for US trip. I don't think people realize how many different coaches Raducanu has worked with recently. Her new coach will be her 6th different coach in the past 2 years.

She's justified in wanting to get the best training possible to maximize her potential. So many payers change several coaches throughout their careers, and Emma switching to someone more experienced and successful because she can afford it makes total sense.

In pro tennis coaching careers; even if win a GS title, you can get fired the next week! Happens to Richardson, Sascha Baji, Lundgren, Becker, etc... I would have stunk with Richardson if I was Emma!

Obviously it must be absolutely new to be going through everything she is, especially so suddenly and at her age. On the one hand it's not surprising she's making this change for a more full time professional feel, and on the other hand as a Nadal fan I can't ever imagine Rafa leaving Toni after '05. Obviously I have no clue and in any case they're different people, different players, and in different times so it's literally impossible to judge. Honestly I just hope she stays on track and gets literally anyone not named Patrick Mouratoglou, that man represents everything wrong with tennis atm.

RF went coach less for a good year or so and was doing pretty well without coaching. Emma reported study her upcoming opponents herself and real does not need a coach for the rest of 2021!

Can someone tell me what's wrong with Mouratoglou? All I know is his youtube videos, Academy and coaching well-known players!
As for Emma I don't blame her even if it was her decision. Her position is difficult and tricky and she's starting to show that. She won and great things are being expected from her. I have no idea who she'll vibe her well.

I never struggled in maths after 7th grade and even today I am extremely good in Maths.

However after 10th Grade when we go to junior college (2 years) we have to take coaching from professional coaching classes for the engineering entrance exam that come after junior college, those exams are called IIT Joint Entrance Exams (known as IIT JEE) to get entry into engineering colleges in India, so that is a mandatory thing. However my 6th/7th grade teacher could not have helped me with the problems for the engineering entrance exams.....

So that varies, same for Tennis, players after winning slams have to step up to the next level, maybe thats why they fire coaches ..... there must be some logic after all ...... nobody does that because they become too cocky and arrogant

Basically I removed my 6th/7th grade maths tutor in 8th Grade because at that time in Maths I had almost become like Federer became in 2004, it became so easy that I was confident that without practicing even a single problem in 9th class I could just "read" the solved examples in every chapter and under the concepts so well that I could easily score 85-90+ in the paper while even the toppers in class had to practice diligently, the numbers started coming to me so easily :p Pretty much like what Fed must have felt on Grass in 04

Only difference is the Male Crybaby did not have any Gunter to remove the young rival and he subdued his young rival many years later at AO2017 while the female crybaby had disgusting help from a mad fan and won 11 slams, a black chapter in Tennis.

Wow, looks like I've been remembering things wrong all this time...I swear I remember seeing Lundgren in Fed's box in 04. Mandela effect, perhaps?

Fun side note: Lundgren's first coaching role was with Marcelo Rios, but he quit saying that "he needed a psychologist, not a coach." Which pretty sums up everything there is to know about that enigmatic player from Chile.

This is a dumb move. At least give it a little bit of time to see if the coaching has gone as far as it can.

When someone takes you from nothing to Grand Slam winner why would you fire that person.

It would be like hiring a coach, they win you the super bowl, and then firing them straight after because you want someone with more "experience"..... in order to win the super bowl.

Federer fired Lundgren in December 2003
Entire 2004 he did not have a coach.
Then he hired Tony Roche in 2005
