With Rafa out of the US Open, who do you want to win this year's USO ?
Don't mind for Djoker or Murray to win, but my favorite non Slam winner is the Tennis Ninja, Kei Nishikori .

What say you Rafa fans ?

Nadal fans will be happy if neither Novak nor Fed win that way Nadal has a miniscule chance to get back to world no 1 and need not carry the 'eternal bridesmaid' tag.

I know you are a closet Fed fan.

Hahaha, I do like Federer and his game. Some of his die hard fans get really crazy at times and hateful that one can't help but to counter attack. Federer is one of the favorites to win, and if he does, good for him and his fans. To be honest I don't really mind. He'll deserve it. Maybe that will encourage Rafa to be healthy and work harder.

I know many Rafa fans don't like Djoker, but I'm a Nole fan if he's not playing Rafa. But I like Nishikori more. And among the non slam winners, the sentimental favorite for me are Tsonga and Berdych. I think they deserve at least a slam for hanging around and playing in the era of Fed, Djoker and Muzza and Nadal

With Raonic, Dmitrov and Nishikori raising their level it is almost now or never for Tsonga, Berdych and Ferrer.

If Fed does not win it, I hope Tsonga or Berdych get that.

Novak for FO 2015. He needs that more than USO 2014 and I dont want him to be complacent if he gets USO. We cannot afford to have a 10 time FO winner.

The better question would have been: Who is Nadal rooting for to win the US Open 2014? Ferrer perhaps? Or maybe he just doesn't care either way...

I would guess they would want Tsonga or Berydch. They would be the natural choice. Not Andy or Stan. It would be career defining and lifechanging for Jo and Tom. Who wouldn't want them to experience the pinnacle?

I am starting to miss Rafa more and more as this tournament progresses. Yeah, I root against him when he goes against my favs, but I can't deny the intangibles he brings...to be honest, that all the big names bring.

I hate to say, but the new generation, and even the one coming up behind it hasn't caught fire. It will be a sad day when Roger, Rafa, Novak and Andy won't be around, these guys have that magic. I am looking for that magic in the younger guys like Kei, Dimitrov, Raonic, and even the players younger than them... but I think I've been spoiled these past few years by Roger, Rafa, Novak and Andy.

I know all good things will eventually come to an end, and this awesome foursome will one day be the past...I'm just not ready for that moment yet.

As a Nadal fan its very difficult to root any one else. After all King is King no one can replace him.

However, I would like to wish and pray for these players not this US open but any one Grandslam at least in their life time;
Tsonga
Berdych
Ferrer
Simon
Cilic
Isner

They are putting so much effort and hard work but not enough to beat top players. So I wish and pray god please help them to win one grand slam in their life time :)

I'm rooting for Kei all the way!

Vamos!

"Rafa fans" <----- thread criteria too difficult to understand, fanboys?

Interesting to note that it's the "non-Rafa" Fedfanboys (6-3 6-0, Algo, Bad_Knee, cknobman, tennis_pro) who are voting in the poll in the greatest numbers.

OP: you may want to explain to these little Einsteins what you meant by "Rafa fans"

:)----"DUH!"

We are all huge Rafa fans and we miss him. In a way, we are happy Rafa is missing USO and not Wimbledon

LOL, of course you are. At least it's the "non-voting" smart ones like yourself who can come up with something humorous (however heavy-handed the sarcasm-wink) so as to put smart asses like me in my place. Well played t-addict. ;)

Andy or Novak from the usual suspects.

Berydych or Tsonga for the close but no cigars.

Kei for the young guns.

Since Donskoy is out, I vote for "Others" (Kuznetsov). I like the way you spelled Dmitrov in the poll BTW.

that's why this kind of poll will always fail, tried it before, never a success

A poll is a scientific endeavor, which never fails by definition. There will always be experiment results to analyze, whether you like the results or not. In fact, I am thinking of running a poll right now with a different angle that considers the match results of the first two rounds.

i mean if you ask "rafa fans, who do you support", everyone will vote, not only rafa fans, it never works out

Of course, but I think we all know that collecting raw data is just the initial step. Data analysis is the core of the experiment. E.g., here you can weed out the bad apples to come up with the solid statistics for Nadal fans and still have leftover scraps to identify the latest pathology trends with the ****** crowd.
