Rafael Nadal and Sets Lost Through Two Rounds of Major

Finally a post about someone other than Federer.

Since his first Major win, Rafael Nadal has lost two sets through the first two rounds of a major at the following majors:

2006 Wimbledon (5 Setter in 2nd Round) - Reached final
2010 Wimbledon (5 Setter in 2nd Round) - Won Title
2011 French Open (5 Setter in 1st Round) - Won Title

Remarkably, he has never lost a set or more in both a first round and second round match until this year's French Open.

I am not sure about that. The forecast from tomorrow until the middle of next week is good, but then showers are forecast from Wed onwards. That could massively hurt him against Novak. To dominate Novak he needs hot dry conditions.

He definitely is getting jobbed by the scheduling. Nadal said in his presser today that the reason the organizers gave him the schedule he got yesterday is because Rosol had to play doubles. What kind of bs is that? So Nadal gets punished because arrogant a**hole is playing doubles? It ended up for nothing since Rosol lost anyway. Totally unfair but I would expect nothing less from the morons who run this tournament.

He looks absolutely terrible right now. How could he have lost all the form he showed in the Rome semi and final so quickly? He is so inconsistent these days. I really hope he loses before he makes it to Cvac. I do not want to witness the drumming he will receive if he gets there.

-Percentage of games won by RFederer in the 3rd round of majors from 2007-2009 compared to JBenneteau
-Total matches won by RFederer between 2 hours 15 minutes and 2 hours 40 minutes, compared to TRobredo
-Number of matches where RFederer has won only 2 more points than his opponent, featuring random bashing of RNadal

That will always be the difference between you and me. I root for Nadal through and through even if he's playing like a "mug" as you like to say. I sat there rooting and rooting through that waking horror-show that was the Brands match. I'm still trying to figure out how he pulled out that second set. That match felt far worse and inescapable than Rosol.

If he meets Nole, yeah, he might lose, but Nadal often shows incredible passion and fight in his epic losses, e.g. W 2007, USO 2011 and AO 2012, that only add to his legend.

I do want to witness that, and I will enjoy every moment of it!! I'm afraid wonderboy Paire is going to eliminate him in R32 though, but I will enjoy every second of that match as well!

I saw the 2012 Roland Garros final and it rained on both days of the final. Nadal won in 4 sets. Also rained in 2011 RG final. So Djokovic and Federer don't have a chance, regardless of the weather.
