As it always seems, Federer set a record just in reaching the Indian Wells final.

He reached a Masters Series final for a record 13th consecutive year.

Jimmy Connors reached a final of a Grand Prix Championship Series finals (the equivalent of an ATP Masters Series 1000 tournament from 1970 until 1993) tournament for 12 consecutive years.

He's going to break a lot of these "oldest player ever to do X" or "Consecutive years doing X" records in the coming years.

Connors first in 1971 last in 1988

Connors first was in the Los Angeles tournament in 1971 (lost to Pancho Gonzales) and last at Miami in 1988 (lost to Mats Wilander). So that is a 17 range. Do you think Federer will match that?

Federer will be a strong contender for Halle and Basel well into his late 30's.

The OP said 'consecutive'. I'm not 100% certain about Connors' 12 consecutive years, but looking rapidly at his titles/finals, it would seem that he didn't play a single 'biggie' final in either 1983 (except the US Open, lol), '85, or '87. ;)

Yes he did say consecutive - I was just extending the conversation by noting Connors achievement there.
