Replacement racket for RD-Ti80

Homey

Rookie
I am getting ready to test drive some rackets to replace my RD-Ti80. What Yonex rackets come the closest to playing like the old RD-Ti80. The orange racket, not the red, white, blue (Schrichaphan) racket. I know they are supposed to be the same, but my red, white, blue Ti80 does not play the same as the old orange colored racket.

Thanks:)

the 002 is not even close to the 80 in terms of spec or on-court play - the 002 is more powerful, less headlight, has more SW, has a much more muted feel and is heavier overall

I own both and love both frames for very different reasons

IMO the frame out there now that plays closest overall to the 80 is the TF335 16x20 but it is more muted and has a bit more SW

The RDS001 MP is also in the ballpark

In terms of Yonex racquets it is hard and very subjective. I'll summarise the three that I feel are the closest.

RDS001mp - close in terms of balance and sw, is a little lighter, is much stiffer and has a little more power.

RDS002 Tour SL - close in terms of weight and flex but has a higher sw, less headlight balance and has a lot more power.

RDS002 Tour UL - close in flex, sw and power but is lighter and has an almost even balance.

My suggestion is probably to go with the RDS002 Tour UL and add some weight to the handle.

Of course demoing is the best way to determine what suits your game.
