Roddick red string?

Red strings...

It seems that it's the same string than Petrova uses since RG... (look at R200C posts)
Anybody has any picture to post ?

Its wierd bc the picture on the Wimbolten website had this.

yea im watchin him right now and he is using red strings in his mains... i guess babolat is actually making a red colored poly now and it probably was the string that nadal tried earlier, and probably is the string petrova is using now.

do you think its just a diff color version of the string he usually uses, or a totaly diff string?

I don't think there are any Babolat strings where they offer a variety of color for the same string type, so I'm leaning more towards a new poly offering.

not really sure... cant tell from living room haha. it has to be extremely similar to the one he was using before or he wouldnt switch to it (if he actually did switch)

my guess is that its probably the same string nadal used earlier in some video of him training with his uncle.

Just because its red doesnt meen its technifibre I bet its a new babolat string or PHT painted red because doesnt he have a contract with babolat strings or something?

yeah thats what I was thinking bc I dont see why he would switch strings even if his contract expired.. he can just issue another one. I may be wrong though haha

As soon as I get those strings, I'm gonna blow everyone off the courts! Too bad I won't have much variety though. :cry:

I am figuring that it has to be a Poly. so it could be that new string Babolat is coming out with. I am pretty sure Nadal was trying it out as well in practice. He tossed it aside pretty quick though. Do you know what the name of this new babolat string will be ?? looks good, i am going to try one myself.

I Agree, PHT is the best poly in the world for 1st 2 hours then it goes dead after about 6 hours of play. Yes and also make it in 18 guage as well please.:)

but isn't it a bad idea to be playtesting strings during an actual match?

i hope those strings come soon. they look nice.

I am sure Roddick loved the string during the practice so he is now using it in a real match.. which means it has to be a high quality string,,, Roddick is very picky i heard..:)

I heard Nadal is even more "picky" than Roddick. Can anyone confirm this?

It is not that he is so picky. he is a muscle bound He-man, so he cannot use any string with any kind of real power. he can only use very thick strings with very low muted power.

Nadal has gotten his rackets strung at 54 for his whole life i heard. well he still uses a 1st generation poly and hasnt switched so i bet hes picky. I think any pro is picky

he's got too much power and add that with his APDC which still provides a fair amount of pop for a pro racket. he can't handle PHT
yeah, he actually uses duralast, which i'm sure everyone knows, so TW is lying on their site. but then again, it's all for profit

I don't know if anyone has said it yet cause I haven't looked through the whole thread but it may be this german made string called MSV Focus Hex or MSV Co-Focus Hex.
Just a thought.

so it's not babolats? or is babolat the parent company?
I'm pretty sure nadal, petrova, and roddick are under contract to babolat for strings

Yes, it is true that Pros are particular about their strings, as they have greatest effect on what their ball does...

You forget the average consumer!
the people that pay for their strings don't have anywhere near the sensitivity as a pro.

They are recreational players that like to have the "Look" of a pro.

Doesn't it make sense that Babolat has:
Pro Hurricane- Blue
Pro Hurricane Tour- Yellow
and Mystery "hurricane"- Red

when Babolat makes racquets that are:
Pure Drive- Blue
Aero Pro Drive- Yellow
Aero Storm &Pure Storm Tour- !!!!!RED!!!!

They are just giving consumer a chance to color coordinate.

The poster That said Roddick was using "Patriotic" colors was on the Money.


If it is just another poly can't you see Nadal with Yellow (Duralast)Mains&
Red "Mystery hurricane" crosses.
It would look like the Spanish Flag.

Plenty of people would put that together for the "Look"

Just my "educated guess."

guys - this is a new version of Pro Hurricane Babolat is producing that Roddick tested out and prefers for grass court tennis (it's supposed to be a little bit softer). You'll probably see him switch back to his normal string setup after Wimbledon is finished.

it's not the "tour" version of PH - just the normal stuff. He had some racquets strung with it at Queens last week, too.
