Sampras black 'O' dampener - rubbish!

These sound interesting, but I am still stuck on liking dampeners with a little character.

Think I'll end up sticking with my Wilson Vibra Fun skull and crossbones for now. Also like the Babolat Loony damp with the goldfish. Very fun, and dampen well to boot.

The new square Babolat dampeners are so goaty that I think my new samprases cme too late.

Yes these new ones are cool for a change, never had a problem with the old round ones popping out although I do use the whole thing, insert and all.

I've got some "old" Babolat round ones, new in the pack if anybody wants to trade, for the square ones.

And back on topic,sort of...I tried putting the Bab insert into one of my black Sampras O's and it worked, still experimenting..

It just goes to show that the parent company may not be aware of a problem at the factory until someone tells them.
Kudos to Unique for taking prompt action.
It may be 'just a $2 item', but multiply that by how many thousands...?
I'd not be surprised if they do a recall.
Come to think of it, the SA store where I work has been out of stock for quite a while.
That would explain it.

Have you tried just a 1/2" rubber grommet from your hardware store?

I've searched both Home Depot and Lowes and cannot find rubber grommets. They have tons of plastic ones but no rubber ones.

EDIT:

Glad to hear the Sampras ones are back to normal. I bought a two pack recently and the black one was unusable. Now have the red one in my racquet.
