Well great day today...played a national league match (UK)..won my singles 3-6 6-3 10-7 (match tie-break).
Then played the doubles...lost the first set 6-3...down 5-2 40-0 in the second!
My partner hit 3 aces to save those match points. We break serve to love. Me serving...hit 2 first serves and get into net but get passed with great shots. 0-30...win the next 2 points...double fault at 30-30...another match point..hit a first serve..does not come back. Hold serve. 5-4 now. Break again to 15. 5-5. We both hod serve. Tie break. Tie break gets to 5-5...we lose the next point. 6-5.
Another match point. Opponents hit a good drop shot very clost to net post...my partner runs towards it...at this point I think we are gone. He half falls over and pokes the ball around the net post/ down the line!!!
Our opponents look as if they are about to cry. 6-6. We lose the next point. Another match point. I hit a great first serve. Does not come back.
Anyway we won the tie-break. 1-1 in sets. Match tie break which we win 10-6 with some great serves and net play.
I just love wins like this...it feels even better. Our opponents could not speak for about 1 hour after the match.
