So I was wondering, if any high school or colleges are funding most of their money to the tennis activities. Lets say everyone did a fund rasier and all that money went to the tennis team. And every morning people were at the tennis courts and during lunch and after school. My school is all about football and basketball.

nah, like your school its mostly football, basketball, all the "big" sports. People just don't watch tennis, well the majority.

My school (John Hersey High School) is the Illinois state site for both boys and girls. When are football teams go 1-9 (they went winless last year) we usually pack the stands during lunch. But tennis isn't huge in our school. We have good teams, but every other sport is really good.

No way. My highschool is football, football, football! Wasting a ton of money on that, none for tennis. We had courts @ school which needed resurfacing, but they didnt & tore them down, & now we practice & play at local courts in a park.

Tennis is probably the losest sport at my school, the highest being badminton(100 games won straight in a row). There are only a few dedicated players and some of them have advanced/honors classes well the least dedicated have easy classes

ChuDat I'm guessing your Viet? Most of the people on the tennis are what you are "nerds" because we are mostly asian and are in pre ap, ap, or honor classes. We had resufacing last year. But needed it again for two of our courts because of the hurricade IKE. Where I play at has 12 courts which is my school, but we have two school that are connected and we share the same tennis courts, so my school has 6 courts. Both of the schools even share the same LOCKER ROOM.

Nope I'm Chinese and I'm not in any AP or Honors classes, I'm in some fairly hard classes but not any advanced ones

oh, chudat sounds viet. Chinese but no Ap or Honor classes? YOU CAN'T BE ASIAN! hahhaha

I was about to take Physiology honor, AP Government and Japanese Honors, but didn't because I'd rather get an A in the regular courses than a C or D in the advanced ones

i put down kinda. there is absolutly no money going towards the team, but the student body (at my school) has some interest in it. i mean its obviously not like football or lacrosse (up where i am, lacrosse is big), but its the next biggest thing in spring sports.

I asked my coach lets do a funrasier, so we can buy team strings, team shoes, team balls, team etc. But we said he would have to do paper word and its going to be a mess. I said the easier thing: CAR WASH!

ok who said their school was dedicated to tennis. i want to know because i don't believe it unless its the school academy type.

Definitely not. My school is all football even though we've had one win over the past two years (currently winless this year, with Homecoming game tonight which we will most likely lose).

Our courts are relatively nice, except we have metal nets. I kid you not, solid metal nets. You wouldn't believe it but I have gotten maybe two lets over the course of four years. Oh, and if anybody wants to come watch tennis, you have to stand up. Nowhere to sit.

Our tennis team has the most trophies out of all the teams yet we don't even have our own courts!!!
