Anyone want to compare notes on hybrid setups with Weiss Cannon Scorpion?
My prior setup was a full job of Scorpion at 53 pounds - which was ok but not the most comfortable. Racquet is POG mid.
Setups I've tried:
Scorpion 53 / Gosen 18g cross @ 57: This played really stiff...stiffer than the full job of Scorpion. It felt very pingy and was not comfortable at all. I had increased the tension of the synthetic gut to compensate for the tension loss....but it ended up being too tight a string bed.
Scorpion 53 / Gosen 18g cross @ 53: This was very comfortable. I'd even say it felt "soft" and it was quite pleasing to make contact. Stringbed felt more powerful and I got a little more pop on my serves. Spin felt about the same as when the crosses were high tension. 4 pounds made a huge difference in feel.
