I'm considering the Hyperion too Jack,....havent used it yet,....but looks popular and good for 'flat' hitters which i am....i think the scorpion is designed especially for spin,...which is not something im particularly looking for. I hope others write with feedback on these strings.:)

BUMP.... curious about a comparson of the two.

i know there are threads about these separately, but want a direct comparison (fine maybe i'm just too lazy to search..)

I think u are correct. Scorpion seems designed more for spin. They both seem to have more power than typical poly strings. I just got some Scorpion so I will be trying myself soon. I have used Hyperion in a hybrid in the crosses, but never yet in the mains.

I'm a current Scorpion user( been using it since the beginning of the year ) and I've tried Hyperion 1.18 some times.

Hyperion feels much softer and has a better feel, has more power, yet doesn't have the same control and starts losing tension quicker.

I've been using them in a hybrid( Hyperion 1.18 mains and Scorpion 1.22 crosses ) and it feels great, but the Hyperion started moving after 3hs and went dead.

I've also used Scorpion on mains and Hyperion 1.24 on crosses, it felt good but kinda stiff, had some wrist pain. Gave up on that.

I'll try the new Mosquito Bite, if it doesn't feel good I'll return using Scorpion full.

Have u tried a hybrid of Scorpion mains and a multi cross? I just strung my racquet this way and will try it this afternoon. I hope it's not too stiff.

I am not sure why you are hybriding 2 poly's together. Seems a bit odd to me.

Scorpion is not too stiff. I played full Scorpion with the Radical Pro at around 54#s. It is a very unique string in terms of feel. It's definitley worth a shot to see if you like it.

Just got back from about a 1 hour hitting session with my newly strung setup of Scorpion 1.22 mains (52lbs) w/ PMX 1.23 multi crosses (54lbs).

I really like this setup so far in my Pacific XForce Pro. Pretty lively feeling for copoly mains and not boardy at all. Nice pocketing feeling and not harsh at all on my arm. Power level seemed good and the Scorpion in the mains seemed to give me extra bite on my shots, expecially backhand slice. This is my first try with a copoly/multi hybrid and I rather like it so far. I usually have it the other way around with multi mains.

I will have to wait and see if I get any "residual" elbow pain, but for now my arm feels fine. But sometimes after hitting a few days in a row, afterwards, I will develop a "pulsing" periodic pain in my elbow, which can vary from a slight tingle to a sharp annoying pain. I hope I can handle the Scorpion....I really like how it played. I need to test it in some league matches for sure, but I am encouraged so far.

For me Scorpion offered me better spin, better control, and (if may have been the tension) a slightly softer feel. Can't remember the tension of the Hyperion but it felt a bit dead beside the Scorpion.

Still prefer the TurboTwist 1.24 over both of them.

What do you compare turbo twist to?

Really enjoying my current hybrid of Scorpion 1.22 mains with Pacific PMX multi crosses. Scorpion definitely doesn't feel like your typical poly.

Anyone else compare Scorpion to Hyperion?

Have you tried polystar energy? I hear good things when it comes to softness. I ordered some and will try it out at around 48#s or so

scorpion is soft to me. I don't get arm problems with a full bed. it's also crisper than other polys I have tried. I usually can't get away with a full bed of poly except for scorpion. scorpion is easy on the arm and offers enough pop to use a full bed. I normally need to hybrid polys.

I can't speak to Hyperion but I just started using Scorpion 1.22 full bed at 57/57 in my Speedport Pro Whites and really dig it. After using several other polys I found this one to have the best mix of power, spin, feel and control so far.

Haven't tried a full bed of Scorpion, but a hybrid with multi feels pretty good.
I am trying to decide which I like better.......multi/copoly or copoly/multi.
When I put the Scorpion in the mains, I have to swing harder to get some good pace behind my shot, but I do get more spin. When I put multi in the mains, I get a softer feel and more power with less effort.

you found this both soft and crisp? interesting...

Scorpion is definitely one of the most playable copoly's out there. I was using it in the mains with a multi cross and that was pretty good. But I went back to multi mains and Scorpion crosses because I liked the way that felt better.

I just strung up Polystar Energy in a full bed at 57 (because I heard there is a decent ammount of tension loss). Prior to this I had tried full beds of multi and a few hybrids, with poly mains and synthetic gut crosses, and did not like the feel at all. They felt way too soft for my liking.

Anyways, Polystar Energy felt great too me. Not too stiff, not too soft. No elbow or shoulder pain at all. It had a good ammount of pop when I wanted it and the spin that a full bed of poly allowed me to create helped as well.

This was my first hit with it, and I have heard that after a couple of hours of hitting it loses a lot of tension. We will see what happens, but so far I really liked it.

Those are microtears to the tissues most likely to be around the tendon and subsequent inflamation. You had better be careful with that because the more injury you cause to those tissues, the more susceptible you become to further injury and increased likelihood of acute damage. Tendon injuries are problematic because they take noticeably longer to heal than muscle tears (tendons have about 90% less oxygen uptake, a poorer blood supply, take about 3 months to fully synthetise the necessary amount of collagen for healing etc). I think you're mad to be continuing with poly if you're getting symptoms like that.

I am now only using a copoly (Scorpion) in a hybrid setup with a soft multi in the mains. I think I was getting some pain again because I briefly tried full poly and then a hybrid with poly mains. Now that I am back with a multi/copoly hybrid, things have quieted down quite a bit. I do take these warning pains seriously.

Jack, I was using a co-poly hybrid because I was seeking more feel, yet with the same performance as Scorpion full.

I really liked Hyperion 1.18 on mains and Scorpion 1.22 on crosses, great feel combined with excellent performance from Scorpion. But after only 3hs, it lost its greatness and I started spraying balls, totally lost control.

Now I'm back to Scorpion full.
