Since Nadal is #1 in the ATP Race, will he be the number 1 seed at the year end masters even if he may not be the number one ranking?

By the time we get to the year end masters, the #1 ATP race leader will be ranked #1 in the rankings.

Not necessarily, since there are still a lot of points won in the Masters, after the Masters Cup is over then the race leader and #1 ranking are the same.

The points won from the masters from the previous year are dropped before the masters cup for this year begins so that people who qualify for the TMC get in based on their results from this year only.

Don't you think the #1 ranking will come to a head before then? I mean it's possible for it to change next week. But I think more likely at US Open.

Nadal will probably end up as #1 seed although we still have plenty of tennis to be played, especially US Open.

More interesting question is who will be dropped out of top 8 and who will replace them ?

Roddick and Nalbandian look vulnerable.

If Murray and Gasquet go in, it would be interesting.

I really thought Tsonga was a sureshot this year but totally missing in action right now....

Speaking of Nalbandian, it's a shame he didn't qualify for the TMC last year. He was ranked #9 and went as an alternate. He was in terrific shape and would've probably been the favorite along with Nadal and Fed.
