Who cares who he is.

The guy opened up a thread offering tennis advice, said he wont answer personal things.
So me personaly im just interested in asking tennis related questions and seeing and judging if the answers are useful to me, if they are good if not oh well.

I seriously dont get why people either

1.Ask personal things and want to know who he is somehow
2.Make fun and joke about the fact how some people here are gullable

Some people here are really weird I swear..

I disagree with this ... it implies some here are not really weird.

I’m happy to have a hit with you if you’re coming to Australia next week. I’m usually free on the weekends. PM me, I can arrange a court!

I win almost all matches and use two handed handshake at net afterwards.

J

I've heard that the two handed handshake is necessary in certain advanced age tournaments in Eastern Europe. Else your opponents can disengage and flee too easily as you blather incessantly about the future of tennis.

Hello Player 881, thanks for offering to give some tips.

I have a question about serve return. I use a one-handed backhand. Is it better to always wait for the serve with the same grip, eg. with the forehand grip and switch to the backhand grip if I see the serve coming to that side? Or should I vary this depending on the server, whether it is first or second serve etc.

How do you do it? Do you always wait with the same grip? Do you sometimes anticipate or guess what kind of serve it's going to be and switch to that grip before the serve is hit?

Do you think I can reach 6.0 in 2 years if my highest NTRP rating was 5.0 three and a half years ago but I’m currently around a 4.0-4.5 level.

With his backhand techique I’m surprised he got that high...

True, true. @TonLars was deemed 4.0 (or below) despite having posted video evidence of machine like hitting as well as an astounding winning percentage in Division II collegiate competition.

When I had the opportunity to personally take the court with him in Minnesota and see his skills up close I was widely criticized, even ridiculed for claiming he was closer to a 6.0 (with 6.5 potential) Nonetheless, he later went on to make the finals of the USTA national playoffs for a wild-card spot in the U.S. Open, where I believe he lost a close match to Blake Strode, a former Arkansas standout.

The bar at TTW is HIGH!!!!

A lot of it is because people have never seen themselves on video so they don't appreciate how fast the ball is actually moving and spinning during a high-level match.

Some of it is nitpicking the tiniest deviations from some mythical "gold standard" of technique.

The rest of it is pure delusion.

I think @BallBag has a good point, usually a troll spams, argues with ppl and opens up threads but OP posts rarely which is very odd.
In any case, whatever level player he is, I thought he posted quite decent advice so far and replies but I guess some people like @atp2015 got butthurt cuz he didnt answer his highest ranking question and him and others started this offtopic spamming, so now we might not even ever hear from Mr.Anonymous who had decent replies and advice I thought, regardless of his true level, and even if its ever so highely unlikely still potentialy he really could have been an atp player.

But im not even suprized from this ttw board who rates 5.0 players at 3.0 at best because they miss shots and cant carry a 50 shot rally, so im not even suprized lol.

Wow just found that theres been no reply for 3 weeks or so from this guy.

Just have to say well done @S&V-not_dead_yet @ByeByePoly @J011yroger @atp2015 @rogerroger917

Just out of curiosity, why the need for ridicilous off topic clown posts spamming this thread with it?

Some of us like me, @BallBag @jm1980 actually wanted to get some feedback from this guy and now it seems he won't ever come back.

I just don't get it, why?

If you thought hes a troll or whatever why didn't you just stay away from the thread?

Yea sure looks like a troll doesn't he, your typical gregory diamond right? After how this turned out im pretty sure its a high chance that he was no troll.

Im all for jokes and fooling around on this forum and I do it all the time as you all know, but this really frustrates me, a rare chance to maybe get some insight or feedback from an actual pro player potentially, and you people just have to ruin it for some reason for the rest of us, for no reason at all, seriously pisses me off..

Not like it wouldn't become aparent if the guy really is high ranked, he would know things that are rare to be known and we would see that after many posts and it would become aparent, now we will never know.

Instead of st*pid d*mb posts, why didn't you just ask him things only a top ranked pro would know?

Things like this really do seem just uncalled and st*pid, sorry if that insults you but thats how I feel, just putting it out there.

If the answers are things only a top-ranked pro would know, how would I be able to verify his answer? He could reply with anything and, being ignorant, I'd have no way of verifying it.

I listen to certain people more than others because their past discussions have proven them worthy of listening to. When someone with no history makes claims about having won ATP titles, my first response is to say what Morpheus said when Neo stated he knew Jiu Jitsu: "show me".

He may be right and my doubt may have been misplaced. I await proof of that.

If you feel otherwise, conduct a private conversation with him. Whether you share his responses is up to you.

If it’s Fed ... and you become PM friends ... and he sends NetJets to pick you up for a hit ... don’t rub it in.

If it’s Murray, he will have more time to post.
TW poster granitechief’s son was actually invited to go practice with Federer a few years ago.

If you have questions on what it was like you can probably ask granitechief.
