“I'm the best ever. I'm the most brutal and vicious, and most ruthless champion there's ever been. There's no one can stop me. Djokovic is a conqueror? No, I'm Alexander, he's no Alexander. I'm the best ever. There's never been anybody as ruthless. I'm Rod Laver, I'm Don Budge. There's no one like me. I'm from their cloth. There's no one that can match me. My style is impetuous, my defense is impregnable, and I'm just ferocious. I want your heart. I want to eat his children. Praise be to Allah.”

Where did this originally come from?
I've seen this attributed to "Rogr Fedr" before too.

Don't think Stan has bitten anyone's ear off yet (at least as far as I know).

Stan was never the undisputed heavyweight champ for a long period of time. I'd say that John McEnroe is the most like Mike Tyson. McEnroe, like Tyson, was extremely aggressive and wanted to end things extremely quickly with his attacking style. McEnroe's peak also ended quite early due to personal distractions, similar to Tyson. And lastly, McEnroe, like Tyson, had an insanely high peak.

GPPD is getting better by the minute.
I don’t know what I should do to stay away.
Do you have any similarities w Tom Cruise btw?
How about Mr Obama? Or, let’s say James Franco?
I’ve been told I am a little like Cameron Diaz, but I don’t think so myself.

How about the differences between Stan and Mike instead of the similarities?

1. Mike has better tats

2. Mike has better teeth:

3. At the same age, Mike had the better body:

4. Mike is the greater "philosopher:" ;)

Tyson only beat mugs, in the biggest Weak Era of all-time. Hewitt might be the more apt comparison, career-wise.

Tyson's peak is the most overrated in the history of sports. Who's the best fighter he ever beat? An already punch drunk Larry Holmes? That would be like McEnroe being crowned #1 for beating Rod Laver. Perhaps Tony Tucker was the best fighter Mike Tyson ever beat, but go back and watch that match, I'm not even sure Tyson deserved to win that decision.

My point exactly. Tyson was a good fighter who has been overrated to almost mythological proportions. His rise and peak were quick and very brief, took a huge nosedive at age 23 against buster douglas who never did a thing of note before or since, and he never really recovered after that. His career after that was basically a bad reality show and fights against poor to mid level opposition and a couple more spectacular collapses against the top guys. From a career arc perspective he isnt in the same discussion as someone like Federer.
