Since Djokovic's comeback in 2018

He's had one decent SF opponent in slams.

2018 WC - Nadal
2018 USO - Personal pigeon Nishikori
2019 AO - Lucas friggin Pouille
2019 WC - Slipped through draw RBA
2020 AO - Groinerer/verge of knee surgery Fed
2021 AO - Blowed out Asics Karetsev

That's just the Semis not counting Lifelong wrist problems Delpo, Injured Nadal, Lumbering Anderson, Choking Thiem, Over hyped/Unorthodox Medvedev, and Ancient Federer in Finals.
You're really clutching at straws here dude lol. Djokovic will pass Federer's slam count and Nadal will too, it's inevitable now.

Problem is, that is the best tennis has to offer in this era now.

Which decent opponent would you propose that he play? It’s called the inflation era for a reason, I’m a Nadal fan but this shadow of his old self definitely wouldn’t have won 6 slams in 4 years in the strong era

Peak Fed, love hearing that. So how would Djoker do against 24-27 years old Fed ha.

There simply is not enough good players to have a bunch of good SF opponents.

All better and more accomplished players than Baggy, Philly and Gonzy combined.

Baggy literally matched prime Djokovic blow for blow over 5 sets, forcing him to collapse and then retire while leading comfortably over peak Grassdal in 2007.

Prime Djokovic then won a slam in 2008, followed it up by taking peak Claydal to at tiebreak at RG08, only to get curbstomped by strong era baller Safin at Wimbledon. And that’s after Primeovic stretched eventual Wimbledon winner Nadal to the limit at Queens.

Then, after playing literally the best tennis of his entire career at Madrid 09, peak Djokovic got destroyed by strong era journeyman Kohlschreiber and eviscerated by strong era humilityGOAT Haas at Wimbledon, who willingly sacrificed his tennis peak to care for his parents but came back post-prime to spank the grass court fraud anyways.

Obviously with this type of competition. That's the point, son.
Even if we agree with your hypothesis that defeating prime Federer, prime Nadal, resurgent Del Potro, peak Thiem and peak Medvedev is “weak”... that’s still only 5 slams

Federer won 13 slams facing Roddick, Bagdhatis, Haas, Kiefer, Bjorkman etc. Djokovic has 8 more weak slams before he and Federer are even in that department

Those three are out. They have been replaced by Zverev, Berrentinni, and dare I say... Schwartzman.

So true, Medvedev paked so badly at AO, dang even though he beat Djokovic 3 times before, I have never seen Medvedev as good as in that AO match, I don't even recall him making an unforced error, hell did he even miss just one first serve. Gotta be the most incredible achivement ever in tennis for Djokovic to win against such a scary version of Medvedev, still have nightmares on how scary good the performance given by Medvedev in that final was, probably will not ever forget this

I was being nice by only mentioning 2018 forward. Djokovic did his damage after Fed turned 30 and after Nadal was useless off clay. Facts.

Did you read this forum the two weeks before bud? I said Djokovic will win easy but all the experts told me Medvedev is clear favourite and hits bigger and better than novak does

Now he lost easily, he’s a weak opponent :-D Or Djokovic was too good.

The one's giving Medvedev a chance had a reason but they didn't consider enough things, I never agreed with them. But you cannot convince me that Medvedev didn't give the worst final performance seen in the last 2 decades

Fed played some of his best ever tennis after turning 30. Djokovic/Nadal have won 10/11 of previous slams. Prime age for tennis player has shifted bud

Med was playing decent tennis in my opinion leading up to the final. Definitely worthy of a big time Djoker win, but then that Med never showed up and we got Karatsev.

Anderson was pretty bad, so was Djoker at RG last year, and Cilic in WC.

Hmmm, facts huh?

That's like saying Federer had done all of his main damage when Djokovic was around 22, the same age that Federer found his own stride, and as far as Nadal being useless off clay, didn't Djokovic beat Nadal in three straight non-clay slam finals? Hardly useless.

Strong era champ 2003-09 Roddick would be 3-1 at Wimbledon if he faced 2014-19 Federer, leads the H2H against the grass court pretender, and won the same number of slams as Djokovic during Federer’s prime

Comparing them their potential, Anderson didn't do bad, tbf. Djoko was outperformed by Nadal on clay, he defo gave a better performance than Medvedev. You're right about the Cilic though, but in my opinion he seemed to be part of the 1st and 3rd set, and Medvedev was over after 1st set, id

Anderson, Cryic were worse I think.

Weak era is real. Imagine guys like Becker, Lendl, Connors getting draws like these in their twilight years? Damn the Slam numbers are inflated to sin.

Not to mention the homogenization lol. How many slams would Becker have won if everywhere played like Wimbledon? Big 3 resumes are hilariously overinflated relative to past greats

Anderson wasn't.
Cilic was a joke, but had a BP in the first set, and Medvedev never really led. Cilic also held through in the 3rd set, Medvedev just hit forehand errors there
2017 USO Anderson? Have to disagree there bud. He looked clueless out there.

Fed played some good tennis after 30 and some peakish performances at times. That's it, nothin more. Nowhere near his glory days as a whole. Prime age has shifted slightly due to advancements, but not that damn much. Where's Berdych, Cilic, Murray, Anderson, Nishi, Tsonga, Delpo, etc? All washed up that's what or gone.

Borg won 6 RGs out of 7 and 5Ws in a row and retired by 25. If courts were this homogenized in his time and Australia was actually considered a real slam he probably could have notched 21 and retired by the same age with a few CYGSs

Nadal had to win 102 points to beat Anderson
Djokovic had to win 87 points to beat Medvedev

Anderson won 78 points
Medvedev won 68 points

10 games are more than 9 games

Anderson won 73% of his first serve points
Medvedev won 69% of his first serve points

Anderson won 10/14 service games
Medvedev won 7/14 service games

Sure that Medvedev did better return-wise, but Medvedev is not this return king, it's clear Medvedev didn't play his game and Anderson did. Anderson only lost the 2 last sets with one break, so

“I think I’m a better player now than when I was at 24 because I’ve practised for another 10 years and I’ve got 10 years more experience,” Federer said. “Maybe I don’t have the confidence level that I had at 24 when I was winning 40 matches in a row, but I feel like I hit a bigger serve, my backhand is better, my forehand is still as good as it’s ever been, I volley better than I have in the past. I think I’ve had to adapt to a new generation of players again.” (Cincinnati, August 2015).

Lol, Medvedev would've beaten any other player that day. Unfortunately for you the AO GOAT ain't just any other player.

Roddick struggled against Granpa Agassi, there's no evidence he could beat Granpa Federer (Note: Both old but Federer is even more talented, fitter than Agassi and he doesn't use Methamphetamine).

Federer hasn't had the same big opening that Djokovic has had in his 30's. Imagine 2015 Wimbledon Fed- 2016 AO Fed with this field. Probably 3 slams.

I suppose it didnt sound fair to say Nadal has been useless off clay. I really meant with Djokovic because we all know he is the bar on HC. Beating the rest of the field doesn't make a hill of beans if Nadal can't even win sets of Djokovic for years now. Sure, Nadal won a couple USO with cakewalks, but that doesn't really disprove anything I'm saying.

Lastly, I'm not saying Djokovic has never beat good versions of Fedal. He's had some really nice wins. But great versions of them? I struggle to see very much of that. Small doses here and there.
