That might be the reason the shoes failed.

Looked like the shoelaces, to me, at least the first time around. The last pair of shoes, the black ones, seemed really slippery!

Maybe it's just the poor quality of tennis shoes in general.
The trend for the past 5+ years has been to release shoes of lower and lower quality at higher and higher prices.
If he's using retail, no wonder they're falling apart before a single match is over.

3rd set 3-4 change over TC showed one shoe with a broken lace at 3rd or 4th eyelet. When your foot turns over abrading the lace, I understand. He then popped another lace at 3-5, changin to the black shoes.

In my experience nikes feel good but (dont last as long/arent built as tough) as adidas shoes.
German products always seem to be built with reliability/longevity as a core goal.

I remember Connors who out habit changed to a new pair of tennis shoes on court at the beginning of each set. i think they were Brooks. Do nothing new under the sun

In my experience nikes feel good but (dont last as long/arent built as tough) as adidas shoes.
German products always seem to be built with reliability/longevity as a core goal.
They all made (mostly out of cheap materials) in China anyway.
