As a fan of both Federer and cricket, I was torn between these two huge events. Both went right down to the wire.... Unbelievable!. Huge disappointment that Fed couldn't finish it at 8-7, 40-15 in the 5th.... but what a match for a 38-year old! And after beating a determined Nadal in a tight match!

Compared to the Djoker, if Fed has a flaw, it is he plays more conservatively on critical points, where Novak goes for it! Like he did some years ago at the US Open where the Fed also had match point...

Likewise at Lord's the world cup final ended up a TIE! Then a 'super over' was played, a little like a penalty shootout.... there too a tie! England won its first title through another stat (boundary count). If you were a Brit aristocrat, you would have a hard time figuring out where to be.... WHAT A DAY!

YES - tennis is great but there's more than tennis..

The Queen has congratulated the England team for their nail-biting victory over New Zealand in the cricket World Cup.
Former players and the soon-to-be-departing prime minister Theresa May have also been reacting to the team winning their first ever world cup.

A statement issued by Buckingham Palace said: "Prince Philip and I send our warmest congratulations to the England men's cricket team after such a thrilling victory in today's World Cup final.
"I also extend my commiserations to the runners-up New Zealand, who competed so admirably in today's contest and throughout the tournament.
"Elizabeth R."
