String question for Chris

I have recently switched rackets the Babolat Pure Control Tour and I am trying to find the right string for the racket. The demo racket that I received from TW was strung with Babolat Revenge and I really liked the feel of the racket with that string. I later found out that it had been discontinued. I typically like round/ dead feeling polys and the Revenge seemed to give me a lot of spin even though I typically hit pretty flat. I have tried Lux 4G and RPM Blast and didn't care for the feel of either. I tried Gamma Moto/ Glide and found it to have too much pop for my game. I am currently using ALU Power and like it the most but I am having some wrist issues because of it.

I just placed another order and I am going to try the Yonex Poly Tour Pro and Gamma IO out based on reviews. I also ordered a set of Cyclone to try in this racket.

I saw that you were on the Revenge playtest and wondered if you could suggest anything that would play similar to that string. Also, I know that the stiffness rating on Revenge is high and it may have just been in the demo racket for a while so I didn't notice the stiffness. Would you consider Revenge to be more or less comfortable on the arm than ALU Power?

Thanks

JLaw516,

Chris is out of the office for a week but as soon as he gets back I will make sure he answers your question.

Thanks Brittany! Mark may also have a suggestion, I believe he was the other person on the play test for the Revenge string. Or if anyone else has hit with it and can make a suggestion for something that plays similarly.

I'd suggest trying some Kirschbaum strings. Their polys are pre-stretched so hold tension well and offer a nice crisp feel. Give Super Smash a try and also Max Power (actually plays like it should be called Max Control).

Others to consider would be Tecnifibre Black Code and a great budget option, Gosen Polylon. Polylon is an old-school poly and offers a firm and dead feel. I really groove on its response as the control I get from it is superb.

Hope that helps,
Chris, TW

Thanks Chris, I do have some Pro Line X string that I am going to try out also. I am not sure how that matches up with the other Kirschbaum strings you listed but I have used it before in a different racket. Thanks for the advice!
