@XVPanos,

The 2016 Pure Aero (neon yellow/black) & 2023 Pure Aero are strung fairly differently from one another.

Although both racquets are still 16x19 (and have 6 holes in the throat) there are a few differences.

The 2016 Pure Aero was the 1st Gen. Pure Aero and (unlike the AeroPro Drives that it replaced) it now had "double skips" at the head & throat (7H, 9H & 7T, 9T).
Secondly, and very importantly, the 2016 introduced an asymmetrical grommet design (regardless of whether you are stringing the frame 1-piece or 2-piece, it is imperative that the crosses be routed correctly, or you will not have the cross strings laying down within their recessed grommet channels).

The 2023 Pure Aero has actually reverted back to having skips only at 8H & 8T (just like the old AeroPro Drives were... in case you happen to be familiar with them).
Note:
The 2023 Pure Aero (as well as the 2019 Pure Aero) no longer has the asymmetrical grommet design used on the 2016 Pure Aero.
Since the grommet system is now symmetrical once again - you may start the crosses on either side (like most other tennis frames).

Question...
Are you wanting to string them 1-piece or 2-piece?

Once you answer that, I can give you more specific advice, including the tie-off locations.

Cheers, Wes

@ Wes
First of all, I want to thank you very much for your prompt response. You were honestly direct and completely understandable. I want to start knitting my own rackets, so I bought a drop weight stringing machine. In the past the companies (certainly head I had many years ago) had on their sites the instructions for each of their models. I thought babolat would have too. Once again, thank you very much.

@XVPanos,

No problem. You're quite welcome.
And, by the way, welcome to the forum as well. :)

You didn't answer my question regarding whether your plan is to string them 1-piece or 2-piece.

So, you are brand new to stringing, is that correct?

Did you very recently acquire your drop-weight machine, or have you had it for a while?

From what you've written, it's unclear as to just how long you've actually been stringing.
Could you clarify?

Cheers, Wes

Hi Wes, sorry I was so happy with your immediate reply that I forgot to give an answer to your questions. No, I have never knitted a racket before. I am waiting to receive my stringing machine which will arrive around 20/2/2023. I want to string my racquets (PA) in 2 pieces. I also have the first racket I had as a child kennex Davis pro. The only thing that (she) has on its throat is a sticker writing graphite glass 50/50! Also i couldn't find any other information. It was strung in one piece back in 1987!

I just received my new drop weight sttinging machine. I even strung my PA 2016. I had a little problem with the knots but ok it was my first time. I also tried to upload fotos with my work but i couldn't find how. Tomorrow i will try to sting my PA 2023 which has a different string pattern. I want to do a two pieces string job. I'm still waiting for babolats answer in my email (has been 2 weeks). Any information about where to tie off mains & crosses?
Thanks in advance
Chris

@XVPanos,

Chris,
Sorry, I just realized I never followed up, after you mentioned that you wanted to do both of them 2-piece.

For the 2016 Pure Aero...
16x19
Mains start at throat.
Mains skip 7H,9H & 7T,9T
Mains tie at 8T (NOT at 6T)
Top cross ties at 5H
Bottom cross ties at 6T

For the 2023 Pure Aero, it pretty much reverted back to what all the AeroPro Drives did...
16x19
Mains start at throat.
Mains skip 8H & 8T
Mains tie at 6T
Top cross ties at 7H (which is fairly close to the top cross)
Bottom cross ties at 10T (which was always a rather tight spot, given it's proximity to the 8th/outer main string)

Mains tie off at 8T. Babolat will say crosses tie off at 5H and 6T. I would tie crosses at 11H and 11T From looking at pictures of the racket on TW.

Thanks all for your immediate response. I watched a lot of videos on yt (including Herbs).
But i couldn't find how to string a racquet (Pure Aero 100 2023) with 2 pieces of string. I guess it is to early for that. My PA 2023 was strung from a stringer the same way as the PA 2016!
Now i am sure that was wrong.
I don't want to damage the frame of my new set of racquets. My drop weight machine has flying clamps and that makes me more conscious.

@XVPanos - I am 99.9999% sure that any racket can be strung two-piece. I don't know why a 2016 would be strung differently than a 2023.... Could you elaborate on what was different?

We agree on your first part.

They have a different skipping holes on mains different skipping holes on crosses. They tie off knots are located also in a different holes. That is what can i understand from the answers till now.
I am now learning how to strung my own racquets.[/QUOTE]

Then I would tie off mains at 6T and crosses at 10H and 10T. I like to tie mains to mains and crosses to crosses if tie off grommet holes are available. I do not like to expand grommet holes. If you don’t have a starting clamp tie off the top cross at 7H.

EDIT: Earlier I assumed you had a PA 98 2023.

:rolleyes:
And just WHY would you make that assumption?

NOBODY uttered a single iota about the Pure Aero 98 (or, for that matter, a Pure Aero VS).

Irvin responds, a majority of the time, to a question which was never asked to begin with. It’s painful to sift through these to find the tidbits that he posts which are on topic and at the same time helpful.

@XVPanos

Hey Chris,
You really won't need to find a video to string your 2023 Pure Aero.

Since you've already strung your 2016 Pure Aero (which is actually the slightly trickier one), you are simply going to do the exact same thing as your 2016 Pure Aero - except for the different skipped holes & the tie-off locations (as I outlined in post #7 above).

Chris,
When I was on the court with one of my clients last night, I quickly recorded this for you...

Whoa! One piece with bottom up crosses allowed. Not sure if Babolat CS is correct since 2 piece is crosses top down. Take info with a large grain of salt.
