Stringjob question

Hi all (first post), I'm a new stringer and check out what I did on my second job:

As you can see, I didn't alternate my crosses correctly on the last three (and actually, on the top three too). I kept alternating my starts (under, over) on the first and last three crosses, and now realize I shouldn't have.

So, the question is: big deal or not? Should I cut these out and re-do, or am I OK to just wait until they break and then restring it correctly?
Thanks!
Bruno

technicallly its illegal but its not worst thing in the world. i have done this to a couple of frames to see what happens and it does makes the string bed play much stiffer, and can produce more spin

i see another problem too. you tied off on a cross.

what I do is, I feel with my fingers to see if I'm alternating while I'm inserting the end of the string with my other hand. that way, you'll have a lower chance of messing up on the crosses.

I need all my equipment to be perfect, otherwise it will be on my mind during a match. If it does not bother you, then play with it. Otherwise, restring. Just check in the future that your last cross on each pass is opposite of the first cross and then you will almost never have a misweave.

I think he meant it's not a problem in general - PC was an example.
I've strung racquets by manufacturer guidelines and tied off on a cross.

Btw, the knots you have done look loose, I've not had much experience with double hitch knots, are they usually a little loose?

thanks everyone. It is a Kblade, and I'm pretty sure the tie on the cross is right, but I'll double check. The knots are loose, but that's just my inexperience showing. I didn't want to pull too hard on them for fear of weakening the string. Any tips on getting those knots tighter?

make sure you rock back and hold the knot while you release the string from the clamp.
I prefer the parnell knot to the double hitch as it kinda "locks" the tail in place and keeps it nicely snug to the inside of the hoop.

There's nothing wrong with tieing off on a cross, many racquets are designed that way.

Not only that, tie offs are not designated grommets. You can tie off where ever you see fit. The fact of the matter is some places are just better than others.

@Zhou: thanks, my book listed a cross tie grommet, I was tying there, but the main at that spot is really close to the frame, making it difficult. Maybe I'll try a different spot next time.

that is the edge of the stringed so for yourself its fine, live and learn use it and be mad at yourself every time and you wont do it again for a while

Since the knots are loose, you can remounted your racket, reclamp your strings. And TRY to unknot the knot. And re do and PROBLEM SOLVE

Looks to me like you only messed up on the second (and next to last) cross strings. The others appear to be correct. Where the arrows are pointing appear to be correct. It is the cross string below the arrows that is woven the incorrectly. Appears to me you were doing something other than a top to bottom weave.

Actually, you're right, I just forgot to alternate on the top and bottom two crosses. Fortunately, my strings broke yesterday and I restrung it correctly. Thanks everyone!
