Day 1, morning - We strolled around and saw the UN. Kind of an ugly building with lots of construction. Then saw the Choo Choos at Grand Central Station. Next we walked by the Empire State Building to Times Square. Then we walked over to Rockefeller Center. Wife and kid are napping now. Dad to follow...

Find the quickest exit and get the heck out of there. Then plan a new route for Montana to aid in your recovery.

Was at Grand Central today as well, went to Metropolitan Museum. If your wife likes fashion, they have the works of Alexander McQueen on exhibit there.

Just realized **** is close. I may have to check it out.

Weather here is supposed to be crappy tomorrow.

Check out NYC Racquet Sports too: 3 locations
157A West 35th Street (between Broadway & 7th Ave.)
341 Madison Avenue (44th St. between Madison & Vanderbilt)
40 East 45th Street (Grand Central Terminal between tracks 38 & 39)

Went to **** with my son in his stroller. Got there, lo and behold STAIRS! Walked over to Mason's Tennis Mart but it was pretty small, so I did not go in there either.

Back home now. Had a great time in NYC. Mid-town was definitely the place to stay since many of the tourist places were within walking distance. Looking forward to returning some day and seeing more of the city.

Did you go to the "Top of the Rock" at Rockefeller Center? I hope the weather was nice for you. I was there last summer and the day I went to RC it was raining.

Did you bring me back a t-shirt?

If you want to visit a NY deli, 2nd Avenue Deli's new location is not too far from you either.

Wait, there's a deli now on 2nd Avenue? I really need to start thinking about getting out more often to the East Side, hopefully in the next few years.

I can't tell if this is supposed to be snarky or not. If so, the Second Avenue Deli is a NY institution not some run of the mill deli. So its existence is notable and quintessentially NY

We did that one day when it was cloudy. In hindsight we should have done that on the first day which is the only day that the sun was out.

I only brought back one I love NY T-shirt for me, sorry.

Thanks for that - any other suggestions on places to visit in the city?

Per Se, really? Does a 3-4 hour meal with a 2 year old sound reasonable?

FYI- CEGO has been bouncing around locations after their lease expired at 26th and 5th a few months ago; think they're now at 28th and 5th but before that they were borrowing some space from Mr. Ned.

I've gone there with my friend's 3 and 7 year old. No issues.

Didn't know that. I didn't check the return label on my last order. I know he's close with Mr. Ned.

I'm sure it was more of a joke. It's also 500 bucks per person and takes reservations 2 months in advance.

Not a joke and it isn't $500 per person (how much the final bill comes to depends on your taste of alcohol).

$295 per person, which includes gratuity (which in itself is worth ~$60-80).

You can get a reservation at per se, for dinner, within in a week, if you're lucky. It is advisable to book ahead, but not necessary. AmEx has one table there a night (if they say they are fully booked, ask them about their AmEx table).

The waiting list also usually comes through, in my experience.

Roman is a really nice guy. Go to City View Tennis, on his recommendation, for the day and relax. I went to their grand opening party and met some VPs at Wilson and had a great time!

I think I said it earlier, but I had my son in a stroller and did not realize you needed to climb a set of stairs to get into ****. Would have loved to drop in. Oh well, next time.
