Switching to the Pure Storm

I am leaving my RDX 500 for the Pure Storm. I just ordered two of them. I've demoed about 10 frames over the past few months and the Pure Storm was the only one that gave me similar or more control and less weight. Very nice frame. The more I hit with it the more I like it. It's good for spin, excellent for serves, volleys well, and feels good when swinging out on both wings. It's just a solid all around frame. I played a near perfect 3 games earlier today with it, winning 11 of the first 12 points of the set. No errors, and about 6 winners. I think I hit my fastest serve ever today as well. I would guess it was around 130mph. The ball clipped the returners frame and shot about 50 feet out of the court. He was lucky to get his frame on it at all, but it was hit fairly close to him so he didn't have to take any steps, just move the frame. The other thing that surprised me was the contact felt good. When I hit that hard with my RDX 500 it rarely feels good. There seems to be less shock on the Pure Storm even though it's a little bit stiffer. I've read on the boards that there will be a cortex update to this frame, but it seems pretty sweet the way it is. If you're looking for an 11oz. control frame this one is worth a demo.

just wondering, what strings did you try?

I like gosen og sheep on this frame but it is a tad powerful at 60/57 I think i'll try it higher.
Cyberflash plays great on this frame, but better yet hybrid cyber and the gosen.

Gang - I am trying different strings with the Storm. Tried Cyber Flash at 54, thinking of going even lower to 51. Ace - How and at what tension did you hybrid the Gosen and Cyber Flash? How about Gut or multi with Cyber Flash? Or just full gut or multi? What is your experience with different strings in the Storm? My #1 concern is comfort.

The demo came with Sensation 16 at an unknown tension. It was very comfortable with the Sensation. I broke those after about 90 minutes of hitting. I restrung it with Cyberflash at 56/59. It was almost as comfortable as the Sensation and control was slightly better. Plus the strings didn't move at all which I like. I'd bet that Cyberflash mains and Sensation crosses would be a great hybrid with lots of comfort.

Basil J, thanks for the offer, but I generally just stick to two frames at a time. I am starting to think that lighter is better for me as long as there is enough weight in the head.
