Folks, I'm founding a support group here on TTW for fellow Thiemsters.

I find these very trying times. I need a shoulder to cry on.

"I really dislike how we players get treated at this tournament because yesterday was, in my opinion, not acceptable," said Thiem.

"They knew that not one ball of tennis was going to be played, and they hold us here until 7.30pm."

He said players were then caught up in clashes between fans before the Coppa Italia football final in the nearby Stadio Olimpico.

"They also know since, I don't know how long, that there's going to be the football match last night," continued the 25-year-old.

"The ride back from here to the hotel took like one and a half hours.

"If everybody knows that it's going to rain all day, then let the players leave at 2pm or 3pm when there's no traffic, when there are no guys beating each other up on the street.

"It's no problem if it's raining. It's also no problem if we have two or three matches a day.

"It happens from time to time. But then the tournament should also help us a little bit.

- ' Unacceptable' -

"I mean, I was having dinner. I couldn't even have treatment, otherwise I wouldn't get enough sleep. Then they schedule me at 10am today. I don't think that's acceptable.

Relax and find solace in these pluses:

• He'll be seeded 4th at RG and will avoid the Big 3 before semis
• Hasn't lost badly on clay apart from the Lajovic match
• Arguably the fittest guy on tour atm
• Good chance he won't be facing his kryptonite Fiasco at RG due to top 32 seedings ;)

Support centre???? The man made #4 in the world without a slam title. Am I supposed to weep for him?

Make it sound like the guy is playing on crutches. He's currently thriving having won nothing of note.

He won Indian Wells a few months back. That's an event of note. He has a problem with his consistency which is the key to making it right to the top.

Indian Wells is a big tournament. If you don’t think so, try going there sometime.

True but basically 0/3 in clay Masters 1000 this year, not even making a final and crashing out early in 2/3. That has me worried for sure.

He looked so good in Barcelona and I think most of us assumed he’d lift at least one of the Masters 1000 titles.

Losing to Nando seems to be a consistent theme.

For a guy who can beat Rafa on clay, it's getting remarkable how he's not won a big clay court event.

Thieminator will show up for RG at his consistent best. Mark my words. He always shows up to game when RG arrives and navigates through the draw like a big player. I'm Confident he will reach atleast the SF and put himself amongst the guys of winning the whole thing.

Massu hasn't fixed him in one week. Another more egregious mental implosion, but its no matter as he has locked up top 4 seeding for RG. Rome is a train wreck this year and will be work on the weekend; advantage Thiem.;)

The weather forecast was pretty clear along with the radar. The way the tournament kept stringing out start times moving back one hour at a time was ridiculous. Assume they do this for ticket sales, but they should be called out.

It was the same for all pretty much so sucks to be Thiem.;)

I feel for Dominic and he a very nice guy. Very humble. I kinda felt bad that he lost to Dasco but yesterday was just horrible. I hope he'll do well at RG. I like him a lot. Again, no big drama with him. Hard worker. Always smiling. (y)

I will join this support group and not just because Thiem is the kind of nice guy I can get behind (requisite posterior reference).

I don't know why I always start rooting for players who seem like they should be winning a lot more matches than they are, but I'm a glutton for punishment. Years after Roger stops snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, I'll be rooting on Thiem and Coric.

Fair enough. But getting into the top 5 with just an Indian Wells title seems a little bit off.

This is starting to remind me of 2006 a little bit. Players now able to hold high, respectable rankings despite not being able to win much. Oh well.
