Tennis in San Jose!

Does anybody know any tennis courts in San Jose that has lights? Fowler Park (heard the lights were cut off by residents around the area), Seventrees (in construction), and Valley West Apartments (halogen lights which are a bit annoying to the human eye). Those are the only places around my area that I can think of that's not too far from my house.

Also, are there any indoor courts in San Jose?

Argh, there are no lighted tennis courts around my area searching that site. There's only one and that's Seventrees but it's under construction!

no problem, maybe one day we can hit if I'm in San Jose

Haha, alright. I'm not that great of a player though but it'll be nice if I get to hit with someone on the forums! Just give me a message when you're here in San Jose.

OH MY GOODNESS. You're lucky! If only San Jose had some indoor courts, I would definitely be playing there on windy days like today.

I actually hit at courts far from my house.
I play at the indoor courts at clubsport in fremont sometimes

Aw man. Well what sucks is that I'm only 16 and I can't drive yet until I'm 18. I can usually only get to Yerba Buena HS courts, Andrew Hill HS courts, Valley West Courts, and Seventrees/Solari Courts which is under construction as I've said so many times. I miss those courts and hate that they have to remodel the whole area.

I can't drive either, I usually get rides from friends

Wow, I haven't heard "Yerba Buena" or "YB" in a while. I went to high school there, well, for the first two years.

As for lit courts, try a university or community college. I used to play at Evergreen college, but I heard they no longer leave the lights on for public usage anymore.

Edit: I remember the court in south San Jose have lights, I think it was on Capitol Exp and Cherry

Oh! Are you a graduate now or what? Also what school did you attend after that 2 years of Yerba Buena? I'm actually attending Andrew P. Hill now; transferred out of Yerba Buena because I didn't want to take the Magnet program anymore.

Anyways, that sounds like Hillsdale and Capitol Expressway, going towards Campbell/Saratoga. I saw some courts there one morning when I was on my way home working with my dad during the night. There's also the courts in Downtown on Guadalupe River Park. I can conform now that they have lights and they do work (found out during the Walk for Aids today in Downtown San Jose).

I graduated a while ago. If I remember correctly the magnet program at YB was Engineering or something related to that, what is the program at Andrew Hill?

In regards to the courts, I think you are right, it is Hillsdale and Cherry. Capitol Exp. turns into Hillsdale after the auto mall. The lights there turns off at either 10 or 11pm. Since it is in a nicer area of the city, the courts there are pretty well kept and as a result, often crowded. If you want a chance to play there, you would have to arrive pretty early in the evening.

Oh, I see. Well, Andrew Hill has the Medical Magnet Program. There's a bunch of students there taking it but I'm not going to. I find magnet a waste of time so I would just stay away from it and focus on my main subjects.

As for the courts, the hard surface looked very green in the morning so I'm assuming there's a lot of people living around the area that cares about those courts. Although YBHS courts is worse because there is trash everywhere on the court because of the Freshman. It was just resurfaced this summer. They eat and just throw there food, condiments, milk cartons there once the lunch bell rings. AHHS though, is a bit more clean but I think that they should put some funding into the tennis courts, add some lights and let some trees around the courts.

The only nice and clean high school court in the area is the one at Mount Pleasant, but they lock it after practice/weekends so that would explain it.

I also forgot to mention, Mission College, if you're able to get a ride there, is really clean, lit at night and has 12courts. If you come before 7pm, there's a good chance you'll get a court to play on. It's by far one of the best court in the area. But it is a bit of a drive.

So that tells me why CCS is always held at Mount Pleasant. Anyways, Mission is near PGA right? Doubt I can get a chance to play at Mission until after High School or so when I can drive.
