I was sitting around today and thinking about good memories in Tennis. Ever had something happen during high school tennis, recreational tennis or in a tennis tournament? Feel free to share.
Hahaha, it was boys junior varsity season. And we were coming home from an away game, a 2-3 hour drive on the bus. We went to this one place, so we can get some McDonalds, Taco Time or whatever since they were all so close to each other. After eating, we were heading back to our bus. Bam, the bus would not start. Our bus broke down, so we had to wait a good 2-3 hours for the mechanic to come and fix it up.
We walked around for a bit and got real bored. So we decided hey, let's play tennis in a parking lot. We found this little cozy place where hardly anyone was driving. There was a big store sign that lit up the parking lot. We tore twigs from a tree and setup some lines. I'd say the court was about half the size or a little smaller than the service boxes all put together. We didn't have a net so we just had a lines person to see if the ball touches the twig and such. Haha, it was some of the best tennis ever. it was a real touch and finesse game. Because there were walls behind us. If in a single bounce it touches the wall you lose the point. There were a bunch of technical rules, and we setup a mini-tournament. My friend Dillon won heh.
Haha my JV coach played as well, he said it reminded him when he played collegiate tennis when it use to be a touch and finesse game.
The mechanic finally came, and we were joking all night about how our bus will probably break down again (we came back around 10-11 pm). It didn't, but it was some of the best tennis I played in my life.
