Tennis Channel will be premiering a new episode of Tennisography tomorrow, with the featured player being Esther Vergeer...who has not lost a tennis match since January 2003.

She's slowly starting to gain more and more attention and I'm definitely interested in knowing more about her and her unprecedented accomplishments. Just a heads up!

I went to a tennis exhibition in my hometown last year (Sampras and Sam Querrey played) and before the featured match they had some wheelchair players come out and show us what they can do. I was so impressed-they basically removed the word "cannot" from my vocabulary. I'd love to see this Vergeer woman play.

I watched the Tennisography feature on Esther Vergeer last night. One thing they never addressed was the prize money for wheelchair events. The total purse for the wheelchair event at the US Open was $120,000. I don't know what the winner's share of that was. It seems that financially the wheelchair participants probably don't do any better than Challenger Circuit pros. Maybe this will change as the wheelchair particpants get more exposure. Speaking of exposure, Vergeer posed for the 2010 ESPN Mag Bodies issue.
